For my flight, I won't be checking luggage and would love to take my 36 oz Yeti bottle with me. Would anyone happen to know if TSA will let me take it if I show them it is empty?

TIA!

They might want to take a peek at it, but there's nothing about an empty bottle that's worthy of being confiscated. I brought home a stainless steel "growler" from Orlando Brewing in carryon. Empty of course. Didn't bug them at all.

A lot of people take empty water bottles in their carry on luggage to fill once they're through security, because they don't want to pay airport prices for bottled water. I've never heard of anyone having an issue with a dry, empty drink container.

We do that too. I use just a generic stainless steel water bottle with a screw on lid, my wife and daughter bring their plastic ones. We make sure they're dry before we pack them, but we also don't put the lids on them in the bag. Never had any troubles yet!
