Yeti at Expedition Everest not making an appearance?

It's also the least "organic" part of the ride. They've recreated a fantastic Himalayan landscape, and for the most part the illusion flows nicely. But I've never been inside a cave with natural strobe lighting.

:lmao: really? I imagine all the cavemen really getting down back in the day.

The difference doesn't take away from the experience, but it does make the ending a little less climatic.

Yes. I would say, "Partly cloudy with light winds and seasonable temperatures."

;)

I think the reason they have not fixed the Yeti yet is because it would require a ride closure for up to 2 weeks. They would have to close it, get a ladder by the tracks, take the yeti down (if needed), then put her back up. I think they were planning on fixing her during the first Everest refurbishment.

Some of the rumors say it would take up to six months to repair the Yeti and its base -- during which time the ride would have to be shut down.

Um...we just got back and the Yeti was definitely working...no disco to report.

It was cool...I held my glasses on for the whole ride just just so I could see it! :thumbsup2

Last month she definitely had a mini swipe thing going on. She didnt reach all the way, but did move.

May I ask where in the ride did you see said Yeti moving?

Last week I saw the Yeti at the Hess near Boardwalk, buying Heineken.

So what you are saying is that the Yeti doesn't move because it's suffering from a massive hangover?

Or that it's trying to swipe at all the screaming people to get them to shut up because it's not helping their hangover?

I'm saying the Yeti has a poor choice in beer. On the other hand, there's not much of a selection at that Hess. Maybe the Yeti doesn't know there's a microbrewery right on the Boardwalk.

That's all I'm saying.

The yeti was definately there and moved a little when I rode Columbus weekend - not a big swipe and it was pretty dark it would have been easy to miss. I did not notice him on my last trip in July - maybe he was at the bar for a refill then, it was hot this summer.

I was there a couple weeks ago. The Yeti didn't move however the strobe like and the fact that you're moving definitely makes it appear that it moves a little.

I'd love to see if fully operational one day.

I don't mind the Yeti not moving. Especially if that means it won't fall on my head.

I wish I could quote the late, great Dennis Hopper's line from Blue Velvet in response to this, but I can't without getting banned, so I won't. :happytv:
