We leave in less than a month and I am starting to freak out over my footwear LOL. I need some recommendations for sandals/shoes for people with very high arches...my feet are killing me! I ordered the Teva Mush flip flops and they feel great...like slippers. I'm just not sure I can wear them all day at the parks. Any advice?:) TIA!

I am a bit overweight, and have high arches too. A friend of mine took me to a fancy running shoe store where they watched me walk and "jog" in order to see if my foot underpronates, pronates (don't even ask me what pronate means...LOL). At any rate, I ended up with a crazy expensive pair of NIKE Vomero 4s. Here's the thing- they are a full 1.5 sizes larger than any other shoe I've ever worn. So, normally, I'm an 8 or 8.5; but in running shoes I'm a 9.5. The guys at the store said this is not unusual. I can tell you- these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I would go get fitted at a local running shoe store again in a minute (even though I'm not a runner).

Happy feet make all the difference in the world.

Oh yes- and one more tip. I also was talked into buying some fancy runner's socks. These also have made all the difference in the world. There's nothing worse than having baggy, or "hard" socks to make your feet feel cramped etc. If you're going to spend the money on the running shoes, make sure you go all the way and get some good socks (coming from someone who has always just purchased the 6pk of gold toe specials...)

Although I'm an avid Teva lover (I have about 7 pairs of the Olawahu flip flops, with the mush footbead), I wouldn't dare try full days at the parks with these, let alone have them as my only shoe for WDW. I'll take along a few pairs for some less-strenuous days, but I much prefer a shoe/sandal with more arch support (but still cushy!) for the long-haul days. I definitely feel it in my back when I've been in the relatively flat shoe of the Teva mush or Croc sandals all day long. I have a pair of Keen Newports, and just picked up a pair of Teva Spoiler sandals, which I think will work great.

Hey there!

I am a huge fan of Chacos sandals... I have written about them on a few threads, and they are the only sandals I'd wear all day at the parks. They have firmer footbeds, and higher, well-defined arches - the straps make them VERY adjustable. They aren't cheap, but they wear like iron. I have one pair that I've been wearing for two solid summers, and I got a back up pair for this summer.... and I walk in them every day for several miles.

Plus, if your feet get wet (mine always seem to), they dry REALLY quickly.
