Yet another question about staying onsite...

Sorry Dis'ers... my brain is officially on vacation mode.

The day we check out, I intend on checking out early, leaving my stuff at the desk and going to the park for a few hours. It is a MM day. If I turn in my key and check out, how do I get to utilize MM? Do you get to keep your room keys for entry? (which would actually be really cool for scrapbooking reasons!)

I have stayed at PPH and GCH and have never turned in my room key (I keep them for scrapbooks, too). When we have stayed at the GCH, our names were on our room keys, so we kept them. I really have no idea if we were "supposed" to turn in our PPH room keys or not...

At the GC, they've always told us to keep the keys. :)

How fun!!! Thanks for the info.

This is my first time staying onsite (well.. since I have had kids ... its been probably 15 years since I stayed there with my aunt and uncle once).. and I am ECSTATIC!

As has already been mentioned: You get to keep your keys. In fact, Disney actually tells you to keep the keys as a souvenir of your stay.

So you will have no problem going to MM on the day you check out.

Have fun! :wizard:

That's one of the best parts of staying onsite - getting your own keepsake "Key to the Magic" with your name printed on it! That key can be used as a charge card as well, so hang on to it!

Yes, the encourage you to keep the keys. We look at ours from time to time just to reminisce and think about next time!!!

Exactly! The cards have your name on them, so there's absolutely no reason to turn them in at all.

The room keys are awesome to keep! And it feels pretty awesome at the time having your name on your own DLR key :)
