I was looking at the kid's menu's and am wondering specifcally about the salads offered at CHH and maybe other places... it's a lettuce salad with chicken... is this a good salad? My DS LOVES salads... he eats one with every meal at home and many times orders one at a restaurant... but, they are always adult sized... so I'm wondering if this kid's meal salad is some little thing or is it a decent size?

What other unique options are out there for CS kid's meals? Where can we find them?

My children are well, healthy eaters. They eat quite a bit but like good food. We found the best places for us were often CS places that had no kids meals or buffets when we were on the DDP. They could choose from the adult meals which were often better. I could not believe Morocco did not offer anything like vegetable couscous or something for kids but rather chicken nuggets!

The lettuce salad is a small bowl of lettuce, a cucumber slice and 2 cherry tomatoes if I remember correctly. :)

I believe that Columbia harbour house in MK had a chickev salad on the kids menu. I was a bit dissapointed with the choices on slot of the kids menues at TS and CS restaurants. My daughter loves nuggets and fries but there are only so many chicken and fries a kid can eat! I wish there were things like ham and cheese or grilled cheeses or other "kid" fare to choose from. Wish those mickey platters were still available...they were great for kids.

I know our little guy liked the Pizzafari Spaghetti and "Meatball" back in 2007. Not sure if they still have it, but it was a nice change from all the hamburgers, nuggets, and general fried food. I'm pretty sure they used to have a child sized pizza too - will have to look when we're there in a couple weeks!

BTW, great thread! As an adult who enjoys ordering from the kids menus at WDW, I'm always looking for healthy options :thumbsup2 Here's hoping others post with their feedback too!

Oh, the hubby just pointed out... Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT. They used to offer kids a "make your own small sub" and used to have an asian dish with rice too. I have a feeling there was a chicken or pork option at one of the stations as well.

If you check the menus over at allearsnet - I think you might find some other hidden gems as well.

As a sidebar, you can always order an "adult" menu item a la carte. If your child just wants a tuna sandwich but does not need the side - tell the CM to take it off. In some cases, this saved us $2.50 or more on an item that otherwise would not have been eaten.
