Yet another pts transfer question

Hey all!

Just a quick question....I'm renting some pts to be transferred into my acct. to book a stay for my little brother and his bride to be for their honeymoon

I'm currently completely out of my own pts for 05'. My question is once I have the pts I'm renting transferred to my acct. , are these the pts that they are going to let me book with? They won't require me to borrow from my 06' UY right? Not that it's a huge deal, just want to make sure of the procedures here since if they're going to make me borrow anyway the pts will have to be used or lost. I still need the extra pts I'm renting as I'll need next years pts for another trip.

MS should always use the points you tell them to use to book any reservation. Normally, MS will not borrow points to make a reservation if there are current year points to use.

When you look for someone to transfer points to you, look for points that are, or will be, valid for the reservation you want to make. At the time of the transfer, tell the CM what the points are for - that way the CM can put the transferred points into the correct use year to begin with. (Assuming that the person transferring the points to you will not have the same use year as you do).

FWIW, be sure to ask for a points status immeidately after you make any transaction and before you hang up. If your records don't match what the CM tells you, you can straighten it out right then and there - it will be a lot easier than if you discover the problem later.
