Yet another problem VMK staff ignores...

VMK staff has ignored another problem...again. We should have a way to know if teleporters match so we don't get ripped-off. Like I just was. I traded something for gold Monsters Inc. teleporters and found out they didn't match.
VMK staff simply sent me a message with information everyone knows. WOW, that helps.

I'm not looking for criticism, just agreements/disagreements on this question: "Should we have a way to know if teleporters match before we trade?

Yes I hear and understand your problem I too traded gold mickey ears for gold doors that did not match. But I do not think he did it on purpose. It can happen hope one day to get the matching ones because I know there is another person out there that does not have matching doors either. lol

I agree. I traded bat magic for several sets of teleporters, and most of them do not match. There are gold doors that do not match and a couple of sets of coffins. I was upset at first, but I don't think it was intentional. I wish there were some way to make sure that they do match before a trade, though.

I agree! I say that when you trade it offers both matching teleporters. Like, say you offer one teleporter, and both that teleporter that matches is offered. The only problem is if you were trying to link a ride or something.

One of my VMK friends did that to me with a bunch of coffins. Luckily I persuaded him into trading back.

My daughter had this problem with a pair of teleporters she traded for. She was really upset. I wrote to VMK, requesting that when people trade teleporters, there be a comment in the trade box, before you accept identifying that the teleporters are connected or not. Therefore, you know before you trade for that teleporter. I may need to suggest that again.

I had someone last night offer me just ONE teleporter in a trade. I found that amusing, but better than offering a set that doesnt match... lol

I know someone here said they make the person put the teleporters down and try them before accepting them in trade, and that seems to work, if only as a deterent. I beleive most people know when they are trading mis matched teleports, so if they are not will ing to show that they work.... well they prolly dont.

Usually if I'm trading teleporters, I request that the other person walks through the teleporters to make sure they work first. That's not to say when we go to trade they could have other teleporters in their inventory but this method helps.

Many moons ago, when VMK first started I ended up with un-matching boat teleporters in a trade. I traded them too, but I did tell the player they did not match and just took a couple of free NPC pin as they wanted to give me something. I kept saying they are not a pair but they wanted them anyway!

It would be wonderful if there was a way of telling whether they matched, not only in trading, but in your inventory too.

I have a trade room where I will trade for just about anything, but I will no longer take teleporters as I have gotten non-matching pairs in the past. I still wonder who has the other half of that jungle cruise teleporters.

I traded the other day and accepted gold doors and just said- do you know if these match? the other person said here just in case... well he through in a 5th door- so now I have two matching sets and a 5th door-

I check the door every now and then to see where it goes but so far the mate must be in his inventory- I'll gladly give it back to him but can't remember his name

I think he must have had 3 sets of doors in his inventory and realized that this way I'd be sure to get two matching sets- not sure why he didn't give the 6th one too lol and take back the other extras he was trading to me...

I had another kid who offered a set of gold doors for a snow carpet- (before the ride athon) and I had a few carpets so I took the chance and accepted but only after I friended him- had to track him down as the doors went to two different places- I kept telling him to just give me the rug back but he ended up getting other doors he had and I had him put them down then checked them and put them back down again

I think that one may have been trying to pull a fast one- but I can't garuntee it wasn't just a mistake too

I think the fact that when he asked me to trade in my room I had a few Zeta's in there and quite a few visiting had been CL's so I think he was a little intimidated by my friends lol into making it right... although most of my going after him took place in his rooms
