I just printed out our boarding passes for our flight in the morning

I had EBCI and while we did get Isa pre which we like our numbers are

B29 and 30 so right in the middle of the Bs

with the weather the ways its been Ive been watching flightaware even though were leaving out of milwaukee and direct to WDW it seems like the weather can though everything into a tizzy

so if Im reading the website right it looks like our plane starts in Minniaplios so just wondering what are chances of getting 2 seats together

I dont care where on the plane we sit just so we can sit together

weve never been this far back in all our travels so I never took notice how soon there are only single seats left

Your boarding pass numbers aren't bad. I think you'll be fine finding two seats together.

There could be people from Minneapolis already on the plane when boarding starts in Milwaukee, plus the family boarders will be ahead of you. I would grab the first 2 seats you see. Does your boarding pass say Early Bird Check-in?

I was wondering if they actually got EBCI too. Those numbers sound odd to me for a Wednesday morning flight. We have been lower in the B boarding group and still were able to get seats together.

I knew people from Minniaplois would be already on when we got on but I was surprised at the #s we got

then when PP mentioned that maybe we didnt get EBCI I really got worried since it didnt say that on our passes so I called SW and she confirmed that we get checked in 36 hrs ahead she said its just that more people are booking EBCI at least well be on our way to the World

thanks all

EBCI passengers are assigned their boarding positions in order by fare class (Anytime fare passengers first, Wanna Get Away passengers next) and then by the timestamp of your EBCI purchase. I'm curious how far in advance of your departure date you purchased EBCI. We've been as far back as B10. We didn't have any problems but there were no continuing passengers on our plane.

I don't think I've heard of anyone with EBCI being as far back in the B group as B29 and B30! Please let us know how it works out.

I really dislike this. It stinks if you pay the extra and get those numbers. I still think the family boarding should be after all ebci folks board, but that's Jmho. I too would be curious how long ago you purchased your ebci.

for those interested we booked our flights 9-17-15

they really need to do something different with the family boarding--chances are those with kids in the age range wont buy the EBCI figuring theyll take there chances on getting on before those that bought them which doesnt make much sense to those that paid --basically then the families that didnt buy are boarding ahead of those that did

Ill let you all know how our seating went when we get back!!

Wow, you really bought early enough. Good luck. I guess I'll be getting high Bs next month. I only bought my tickets 2 months out....flying on a Tuesday morning.

They recently made it worse by changing the age for family boarding from 4 and under to 6 and under. When I looked at the family boarding line on my flight last month, I swear some of the families had kids at least 8 as the youngest. I had B22 and was one of the last to board and there were no window seats left, I was lucky to grab an aisle seat in the second to last row. I bought EBCI last minute for the return and got A58.

One time we were flying from NC back to PHL on SW. Flight originated in MCO, ironically. We had A boarding passes, I think in the low teens. When we boarded, the flight was pretty full. I think only a handful of people got off in NC. The worst part was how "settled in" those MCO passengers were..... the "empty" seats all had coats and stuff on them. It was like we had to ask permission to sit down. (We did not get seats together, which was ok, short flight, we were both adults.) It made me glad I usually board empty planes.....

LOL just realized I have connections on SW, both to and from SNA for my DL trip next week. :D

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might be in trouble. I recently flew SW, we had a full flight, and I had B33 (since I was solo, I elected not to get EBCI). There were only a handful (less than 6) utilizing family boarding, and it was not a continuing flight. Here's the note I made as far as available seating...

I connected through Phoenix on the return. The flight from Vegas to Phoenix was also full and I had B33. There were maybe 4-6 pairs of seats available at this point and only 1-2 rows available. They specifically made an announcement that family boarding would only be for kids and immediate family, no grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.

My suggestion is to just head to the back of the plane and hope for the best.

Well we made it to the airport everything very smooth so far. Haven't gotten on the plane yet. We'll see how this goes there are some kids but not an extreme amount I'm still on edge

Let us know. I am curious. Would rather not pay for the EBCI but now I'm second guessing myself.

Just a thought here, but with the blizzard here in the East and so many cancellations, maybe many folks got their flights changed to the OPs flight and since they may have purchased ECIB earlier, it unfortunately bumped them further back than had the blizzard cancellations and rebookings occurred. just a thought.

Curious to see how it looks when you board.

I don't usually buy it, I always check in at 24 hours on the dot, thanks to an alert on my phone. We have never gotten even the late B's. When I do buy EBCI it's often a last minute choice and we still get A's.

But we fly from ATL to MCO so maybe it's not a popular flight for EBCI?

That or they hit a flight where just about everyone on board bought EBCI

OP live from the magical express we did get seats together near the back but that matter. They did have family boarding but here weren't that many. It seemed most of the families had A boarding. I took the advance someone here suggested and took the first 2 seats together I don't think the guy was too happy he had work stuff spread over the 2 seats. But everything worked out. Good luck to all those planning. Oh we got upgraded to a preferred room at the cbr
