Yet another offsite /resort parking question.

We fly & use DME & Disney transportation & thus have no experience with parking at the resorts or at the parks. This Dec. we have family who are staying off site meeting up w/ us for 1 day at AK and dinner at Boma in AKL. We will be staying at AKL for that portion of the trip.
Would it be better to meet them at AK in the a.m. and then drive back to AKL for dinner from there? Or could they pick us up in the morning and drive us to AK? If they do that do we get free parking as we are on site? Or can we register their rental car for that day and they could park at AKL and then bus w/ us?
I'd appreciate any thoughts on the easiest approach as I really don't know which plan would work best.

Yes, they can pick you up at AKL ( they will need to show guard photo I’d) then park free at AK, you would just give your band for identification.
