Hello everyone, I'm now at the point where I'm getting on my husband's nerves! I belive the word he said was "Obsessive" but, I'm not opoligizing over it! Anywhoo...the question at hand. My son and I will be staying at DLH and I figure the actual time of arrival at the hotel would around 2pm so, do you think I could order groceries online and have them delivered in the 1:30 to 2:30 window, like before I am likely to be physiclly checked-in? I tried calling DLH and was transferred like 3x so, I hope you guy's can help me. I just want to save the hassle of carrying a bunch of supplies while pushing my son's wheelchair.
Also, I noticed there's no microwaves in the DLH rooms. Is there some sort of communal microwave somewhere? just asking....again thanks!

I am not sure I can help much since we never have groceries delivered, but I would think that you'd want to make it for at least when you think you are going to arrive. like 2-3 or 2:30 to 3:30. Just in case you run a little late. Also I think that check in is 3p, so you room may not be ready when you get there, although it shouldn't be too long if it is not.

Of course none of this matters if the front desk will hold the delivery for you. I am not sure if they will do that though since like I said we usually don't have groceries delivered.

I hope you have a great time! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure the bell desk will hold the delivery for you. GCH does this on a regular basis, as do the other hotels, I believe. We expected to arrive at 5 p.m., so I had the delivery window set between 3:30 and 5. We were actually about 20 minutes late, but nothing seemed to suffer for it, including the milk and yogurt-- it was packed into a box and was still cold. I didn't want to set the delivery time for later because I knew we'd want to get to the parks, not hang around waiting for grocery delivery.

Unless you are having alcoholic beverages delivered, which you have to sign for personally, you don't need to be there yourself. The hotel will take delivery.

Thank's for the info guy's! I better get to ordering....I did all our meal reservation's yesterday:rotfl: :rotfl: and, now I better start on my packing list. So excited!

Avalon,
I've had several DISers post that you do not have to be physically there for beer delivery. Have you had an issue with this?

No communal microwave. There is one in the concierge lounge but is not available for everyone

Ballerina, we didn't order wine or beer with ours, so no first hand experience. I just saw several posts that said you did need to be present, or maybe it depends on how easygoing your hotel's bell desk is, or the delivery guy is. Not sure. It would be good to know for future trips! We are wine drinkers but didn't partake on our last trip.
