I have a GAD vouchers for me and my family(4 total). I would like to know when/how much it would cost to upgrade the tickets to say a 4, 5 or 7 day non-expiry ticket and what is the 'upgrade time window' they talk about on the FAQ page ...
anyone know? or can point me in the right direction?
thanks!

The GAD ticket is worth about $80. towards the price of the ticket you are upgrading to (want to end up with). I don't have the numbers handy but I think the 7 day base non-expiring ticket normally costs about $360 so you would submit your GAD ticket (after entering the park that day) together with about $280. to get each 7 day NE.

You don't have to upgrade immediately; you can procrastinate up to the 13'th day after. But I don't recommend waiting until the last minute when you may have to be hurrying back to your resort to get the Magical Express bus to the airport. You can upgrade little by little as opposed to all at once if you so choose.

It is usually a bad deal to get the non-expiry unless the ticket will completely cover two whole vacations (if not more). The 7 day base ticket (without NE) by itself costs around $250.

The GAD tickets have full value ($79 adult/$68 child) of a one-day, one-park, ticket and may be upgraded to any ticket you are entitled to purchase.

You might want to look at the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in the TPA&S Forum. Especially the items bolded in the list below.

ok, so I ran some numbers:
4 GAD tickets value = 336.56 (tax included)
4 MYW non-expiring tickets = 1180.04

If I used the 4 GAD's towards the 4 non-expiring tickets it would cost me
$843.48? ($1180.04 - 336.56) and I would use one of those days so in the end I would have 3 non-expiring tickets, correct? Just wondering if it's all worth it in the end. I think it is as I think we will probably be going back next year. Tickets prices will probably go up too.

Once I get to the park and redeem the vouchers, my family will be upgrading to multi-day tickets. Can we then take them back to our hotel and have them put on our room keys?

Would anyone have the price of the 3 or 4 day MYW ticket price at the gate ? We don't need the non expiring one just the regular tickets. We plan on using all our tickets while we're there in May

Does this mean I can use them to upgrade to the Military 4 day tickets that are $99?? Thanks for your response

Those tickets can be made into hoppers or Water parks and more for $25 for each option. But they are not upgradeable beyond that.

Hmmm...
If you buy 4 non-exp tickets and 4 of you need to go to the park for one day, then you will NOT have 3 tickets left, you will still have 4 tickets, but each of them will be minus the 1 day you used them.

Example: Bought 4 4-day tickets.... family of 4 uses these tickets to get in park for one day. You still have 4 3-day tickets to use later.

I am not sure I understand this. If you are using GAD to uprade TO the military salute tickets why would this not be allowed? The military salute ticket is not being upraded it's being purchased using a voucher. Please help me understand this as this is what our family is planning on doing.

I may be wrong, but I believe the reason they don't allow this is because the military ticket is already heavily discounted. You can only apply the "value" of this "free ticket" to a full value ticket.
