I hate to be that person, but I was wondering what everyone's tried and true F! strategies are during high season. I have been searching around the various message boards but couldn't find any addressing heading to the second showing during high season.

We will be there Saturday May 19th, and plan to watch Magical then head over to watch the second showing of F! at 10:30.

I have seen some people say that they jump on the railroad but that can be problematic if you miss the first train, etc.

I know asking all you DL vets to disclose your secrets is a bit much, but any help for this DL newbie would be greatly appreciated!

Check out Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland that HydroGuy has started which will tell you everything about F! at DL.

As for your question, this tip is from HydroGuy's thread and is one of the best ways to see the fireworks from the Hub first and then you head on over to 2nd show of F! at the RoA. This is one of the best ways to see both the fireworks and the 2nd show of F! if the fireworks start at 9:30pm.

Can I see the park fireworks from the hub and Fantasmic! on the same night?

Yes, you can on nights there is a second Fantasmic! show and the fireworks are scheduled between the two shows. And it is not that hard.

You cannot however see the first Fantasmic! show and then make it to the hub to see the fireworks. Disney purposely chooses the starting time of the fireworks to make this impractical.

To see the second Fantasmic! show after the fireworks you should watch the fireworks from the Frontierland side of the hub. Then as soon as the fireworks end move quickly into Frontierland and towards New Orleans Square where the Fantasmic! viewing area is located. You can often find a spot in the sitting area at this time.

Some savvy guests bypass the surge into Frontierland by taking the path through the Rancho del Zocalo restaurant.

Second Show

Since the second show starts 75-90 minutes after the first show starts and the show lasts roughly 25 minutes, that means the second show starts 40-65 minutes after the first show ends. Most people leave the area and CMs come and do a quick cleanup.

Since the second show viewing spots cannot be obtained until the first show ends, the second show wait is really a maximum of one hour. You can often get to the sitting area with kids 40 minutes before and still get a spot. I have done this several times with four kids and it works fine. Usually.

I have read from other posts that the guests stayed right by the MS station so they can catch the DLRR after the fireworks. I never tried it, but it is possible to ride the DLRR all the way towards NOS RR station.

Since it is during the slow the season in May, you should have no problem getting a good spot to see the 2nd show of F! after the fireworks. Just as long as you are around the Hub after the fireworks is over.

Thanks for the info! Of course Hydroguy has a thread about F! how did I miss it?? :)

I don't think I would want to risk the DLRR adventure...seeing Magical in the hub and heading over to RoA after the show is over sounds like a good plan to me. I just didn't know if doing that would cause me to get stuck behind a million other people with the same idea.

I will be in SoCal working from May through August, and my hope was that by going the first weekend I'm there in May I would be able to miss the height of the summer weekend crowds. That said, I have been to WDW many times during the summer so I figure the crowds will be no worse than the June crowds at WDW.
