Yet another Fantasmic pkg./ADR question

Hi all. Currently we have booked Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic pkg. We will be at Disney from Aug. 14th - 20th. There are 3 shows that week. The more I read about Mama Melrose, it just doesn't wow me and is also an early dinner for us. We're thinking about going with 50's Prime. We are 2 families with 6 kids and want to appeal to everyone.

We don't mind standing but we'd mind missing the show. I realize that this is a difficult ques. to answer but in your experience, in a 3 show week, have you ever seen it sell out?

I haven't been in August but from what I have read, it you can get to the theater 45-60 mins before it starts, you should still be able to get it and possibly get seats. If the show is at 8:30, if you get there by 7:30, you could still have dinner wherever you want in HS at a normal time without doing the package.

I really don't care for 50's Prime Time. The food is just ok, and the whole theme gets old pretty fast.

When we do the Fantasmic package we have always done Mama Melrose. It has been consistently good, but not great as you have read. I find that it is worth it to have the reserved seating and would much rather spend time riding rides while everyone else is in line for Fantasmic, making lines much shorter.

I also like Hollywood and Vine. Been there for lunch only, not for dinner with the package, but I would suspect it is good.

I can't answer specifically about a show being full with 3 in a week. But I can tell you this..when we went during that same week this past August, we went to the second show of the night and it was a flippin madhouse - waiting in the pouring rain and humidity with the masses before they opened the gate...then when they did it was NUTS! People running, pushing kids..it was nothing short of UGLY. No way would I chance it without the F!Package again.

We went this past end of Jan (so NOT a busy time) on a SUnday early show. We did the Fantasmic pkg at Brown Derby (5 adults-loved it!) & the show was packed....Ended up standing room only for people who were coming in at 1/2 hour BEFORE the show started & were not on the pkg....& unfortunately, standing room only could NOT see the show very well, esp the children; so you don't want to do that...
I would not go without the fantasmic package esp w/6 children...I dont think either choice is that bad for dinner(MM or PTC)-as I think the food is secondary to the guaranteed seating you get...You will still have to head over to the specified gate are about 35-45 mins ahead, but walking around to the seating w/o the mad CRUSH of people was very nice...Debbie

We went last July to see Fantasmic. There were 2 shows the night we went. We were turned away from even standing in the line to get into the first show an hour and 20 minutes before showtime! We did get into the 2nd show. Stood in line for an hour and still had seats 10 rows from the back! We booked Mama Melrose Fantasmic package this summer because my 5 year old daughter LOVES the show but I will never be in that madhouse again
