We have decided to take the plunge and go digital this trip. I have a camera picked out and now I need help with a couple of little details:

-Where can you transfer pictures from the memory card to CD?
-How long does it take?
-How much does it cost?

We are trying to decide if we need 1 big (1 gig) memory card or two smaller ones. I read somewhere that you actually had to drop your memory card off and the transfer would take something like 2 hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA :flower:

I can't really help you with the information on transferring to disk except to say I have heard others say they have had problems with it and lost their pictures. I decided to get a larger memory card to go with the one I got with the camera and I took about 200 pictures my last trip using both cards. I really like the digital better because you aren't afraid to take too many pictures and waste film because you know you can just delete the pictures that are no good.

I believe all the parks and some of the resorts offer this service. In the parks it's usually wherever you pick up your park pics (ie. Kodak place) and in the resorts it's at the sundries shop (I know the Contemporary has one). It's basically a machine that looks a lot like the ones you see at CVS or Walgreens. You follow the prompts on the screen and insert your card, then choose which photos you want to burn to CD. Then it asks for the CD which you'll have to get from a CM along with a password. Just be careful to go through all the directions. It's not that difficult a process, but some people have erased their cards without realizing that they hadn't completed the process and lost all the pics. You can burn 120 pics to each CD, which takes about 20 minutes and cost around $12.

...but if it wasn't to much of a hassle, I think I'd try to find a CVS or something similar. $12 to burn a CD!!! :scared1: Maybe I'm just being cheap but I can burn them here (PA) at a CVS for $2.99 and from time to time they run a special for $1.99.

I guess it just depends if you want to go looking for a bargain or not.
