Yet Another Confirmation Blunder!

OK, I know everyone makes mistakes but what is going on at the Disney reservation center???

On March 30 I made our room-only reservation for October. I paid the one night deposit with my Disney Visa which was promptly charged.

I hadn't received a confirmation so I called about 1 1/2 weeks ago to request another one. The CM told me he'd send out another one.

Well, here we are, and still no confirmation. I thought maybe Disney had my address wrong so I called to confirm it. Boy did they have it wrong! The CM read back my street name and then said "there is no number associated with it?". :rolleyes: Then she asked what my city and zip were. Guess that information was missing too. AND when she read back my phone number that was wrong too by 1 digit. Geez.

The CM had me on hold for 5 minutes before she came back to say everything had been corrected and a new confirmation would be sent out. And I can't believe when I called about getting the confirmation the first time the CM didn't check the address.

Sorry to hear about the problems and mess-ups with your confirmation. It's strange how these things happen. I've had my share of them recently and had to keep calling back to get everything taken care of. For some reason I wasn't ever listed on the reservation but they had my mom on it once and my DH listed twice. I'm sure now that you've called back and talked to someone who actually looked to make sure everything was the way it's supposed to be, the confirmation letter will show up.

My mom never even got a confirmation. Me and her called like 6 times on the phone. One time they said she wasn't in the computer after I called and made her reservation. Then they
had the address wrong and she was in with another group.

So I finally e-mailed them through the wdw official website and
got a confirmation letter that way.

Actually, the CM asked you for your city & zip probably not because they were missing, but because the CMs must ask guests for certain info whenever you call to pass the phone call quality monitorings...not passing means losing money and eventually, the job. As for all the mistakes w/your info, be aware that 300 new trainees just 'hit the phones' about a month ago, so maybe you got 2 'newbies'. Of course, your first 2 calls could also have been taken by Continental Airline employees who handle overflow call volume for the DRC.

Now that the DRC has started emulating other call centers, another part of the call quality monitoring is hitting tons of different points w/guests on each call. It's very irritating, but the CMs have no control over it. Hopefully, if enough guests complain this new system will be changed.
 

Well, my DH and I have just experienced the "missing confirmation" as well. We made ressies at thd AKl conceirge level and expected to hear from a CM who would help us make PS early. No phone call. I waited, but still no phone call. When I finally broke down (cause time is running out) made the call I was able to speak to a conceirge level CM who helped us. The only thing was when she tried to confirm the address she had it going to another state. I find it really strange that when you call the CM asks for info such as zip code, state, phone number etc. If you are a returning guest all the info is in the system, so I ask why is there so many mistakes?

I can understand if it is a first time trip. They had to resend out all of our information as well. Hope everyone recieves theirs in a times fashion with no problems.
 
For my trip back in Jan. 04. I was told that they do not mail out confirmations. Point Blank, no one gets confirmation in the mail.

I was shocked, due to the fact that I have kept all of my old confirmations and knew that they did send them out. And usually fairly early, like 4 to six weeks before travel dates.

Also I was on a WDTC package, Sliver, so they were special areas for parade and fireworks viewing that you need the number on the vouchers to book. Finally got my package and confirmation letter two day apart, three days before we left.

I had told the CM's that I spoke with that we were leaving a week before my travel dates, to cruise on the Magic.

Sorry you've had so much frustration over something that's supposed to be so perfect and exciting.

Like you said, everyone makes mistakes (I make at least, like, 5 mistakes per year! Just kidding...I actually only make 4...yeah, 4 mistakes per year.)

On the bright side, thank goodness these mistakes at CRO didn't cost you your ressie, your room or your rate. So just look at it as "no harm, no foul" and forget it. Don't let it ruin your "yippee" feeling about your upcoming vacation.:sunny: Let's also hope that CM who made the mistakes learned something from your experience. They're not all vets at their job!

The agent I worked with told me to feel lucky if I got a confirmation because they are doing a terrible job of getting them out.
 
We are going June 18 for 9 nights at the CBR, we recieved our confirmation May10, we are also going on the silver plan, all our vouchers for the parades and fireworks viewing were in there. Just yesterday 5/25 got a welcome card from the CBR for our upcoming trip. So sorry you had so much trouble, but I really hope you can put it behind you and have a fantasmical time at WDW!!! Tammy
 

Sorry you had a problem with that. I can totally relate. On our honeymoon we had booked the Grand Plan Honeymoon and all our forms said the grand plan honeymoon at the WL concierge. When we got there, however, we were told that we were booked in the Villas and that we only had the regular grand plan. Well, we had already paid for everything (or so we thought) to change to the honeymoon grand plan cost $300 more :confused: Not sure what happened because I had been emailing the concierge staff for everything and they helped me the whole time. It all got fixed and we had a wonderful honeymoon....Just not sure what happened with all that....
Hmmm.

Glad to hear I am not alone in the craziness :)

 
I booked my trip for September on May 26 and recieved my conformatio June 1st yesterday. I guess I have never had a problem yet.

sorry you had such a problem with it. Im glad it all worked out though. we always get our confirmation letters in the mail and in record time. I have received three of them in the last week since I switched dates and resorts they did make one mistake when I called back to add another night- they had me for POR instead of FQ- that was a first.
 
We've been having TONS of problems dealing with the Magical Gatherings "planners" for our trip in August. Here's a sampling:
1.- When my mom got the confirmation letter for our Wishes fireworks cruise, my dad's name wasn't on it, my brother's was, and he's not even going this trip.
2.- I had a room only ressie with aaa rate that I changed to Ap rate when it came out. It left us with enough of a credit to pay off our fireworks cruise. The cm said no problem, he would use the credit for the cruise. Well, I called to make sure, and they had put my credit on my sister's reservation!
3.-My FIL booked with a travel agent at aaa. Since he can't touch his ressie, the lady who booked our cruise said she would put his name in with our group and "hold a spot for him" until his agent called and booked him and the rest of the family on the cruise. Well, you guessed it, the agent called yesterday, the boat is full, and he doesn't have a seat! Gave him the confirmation #, he's going to the aaa office today to try to get it worked out.

Sooooo, you are not alone! I just hope they don't mess anything else up, I've got 18 people going and I'm a nervous wreck planning this thing as it is!
 
Well, I probably shouldn't complain, but we have received too many confirmations! :) We have a Magical Gathering of 11 people, and everyone's stuff gets sent to me. It's kind of funny, but Disney keeps sending us confirmation after confirmation. I have had so many of them!

KIRSTIN'S MOMMY: We have not had much luck with the Magical Gatherings group either. It seems to be really hit or miss with the, depending on the phone rep you get.
 
Mrs. Toaster, I was going to say the same thing. We've been receiving more confirmations than I can count! We haven't changed a thing, except we did pay for the entire trip (9/23-10/3). I'm afraid to toss anything for ffear of any mix ups! So I have a stack of confirmations on my desk in my home office.
 
I also have received so many confirmations!

I am still trying to find out if they have booked out our rooms.

we are a Grand Gathering and we need accessible rooms, so it makes it really intresting to configure.

just a little bit of info- If you have something booked thru special reservations, you will not be able to look at it on-line. The regular CM's can't even touch it. All things having to do with your res has to go thru special res.
 
I had only paid for our first night when I booked POFQ back at the beginning of March. Just called today to pay the remaining balance and after reading this post told them I needed to have another confirmation sent to me showing us paid in full. The CM told me it was not necessary as we just had to give our name at check-in. But I was adamant about receiving the confirm. Our first confirm came within a week. Hope after paying they didn't screw anything up!
