I called and asked about AP's and it was suggested I book and put a curtesy hold (never heard of this) on my room. She said it would be good for two weeks. Her guess was that the codes would be out the 17th..but she said they don't tell them, because they know they would tell us!
She said they had put them in the system, but the new system they are switching to had a problem showing them, so they pulled them out of the system while they work on the problem.

I take it all with a grain of salt, and I also know that if I don't have a code by the 23rd, I'll be booking off Disney.

The curtesy hold on a room gives you 14 days to pay your deposit. If you don't pay by the date given they cancel your ressie automatically. I had a hold on a room for CR with AAA that I booked on 7/26 and had until 8/9 to pay 1 nights deposit. I did that yesterday just in case. AAA discount is still better than paying rack rate and I'll take what I can get for now. Although my patience is growing thin.

Unless a person is willing to pay rack rate for a room they probably shouldn't book a room at rack rate. This booking will take the room out of inventory and maybe no rooms will be offered at discounts or at least fewer will be available. Just a thought.

It's been over 10 days since they released the rates and then pulled them back. No one can figure out how to put them in the system? I can't believe that.

mazzarafe-- Was just curious what your AAA rate was at the CR? We have 2 rooms reserved in the Tower and I'm wondering too if any AP rates will be available for our stay:( . If worse comes to worse I'm sure AAA would be better than nothing. Just wondering if the savings would offset the cost of joining |AAA? In particular what was the cost difference on your room --rack rate vs. your savings?? Thanks!:D

I also heard that there was some problem with the AP rate that was originally out for like an hour on 8/3, I believe it is actually some technical problem. Hopefully they will get the problem straightened out quickly for those of you leaving very soon. I can't imagine they would not have an AP rate or some kind of rate available soon, we go to WDW every year during Value Season and it is NEVER crowded, so I can't imagine all their rooms being booked up. You would think they'd want as many rooms filled as possible. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys. We are not going back until Aug 2004 and usually use AP rates for our trips as well, hope they get this thing back on track.

princess crazy,

I just have a standard view booked in the North Wing for $226.51 a night including tax. I believe regular rate for my room is in the area of $235-240 a night before taxes. I honestly had not actually paid much attention to what the actual savings was, just the fact that DH was willing to spend the $$$.;)

But if ap rates come out I'm not looking to actually save $$$, I want to change to the Poly and spend the same!

A friend of mine is planning a last minute trip to WDW at end of Sept and she called and talked to CRO and was told that she could book the room but to watch for some discounts that will be coming by Aug 22, she did not say whether that was AP rates or something else that WDW is cooking up. Hope she is right for all you guys hanging out there in limbo. This is the first year I couldn't go to WDW (due to hubby having a new job working for our city's mayor and it's election time soon....please pray that he wins!) or I'd be screaming and yelling about codes like you guys. I just hope this latest info is accurate and you guys get your discounts....pixie dust on everyone waiting!

I hope it's not another package with UMP's. The 2 offers on the Visa website are both packages with UMP's. It doesn't seem like they want to give "room only" discounts anymore.
