Yet another AP question

We're going to Disneyland in 11 days and we'll be there for 6 days. My DH, myself and my oldest already have APs and my mom is thinking abut getting one. Today she went over to AAA to get tickets, but they only have 2 & 3 day hoppers, so she bought two 3 day hoppers to equal our 6 days. I know it wasn't most economical way for her to do this, but she bought them before talking to me . So, if she were to upgrade to an AP while we're there, could she use the value of both her 3 day hoppers or is it only one piece of media? I know she would have to do it before her 3 days on the first one are over. Does this make sense?

I'm pretty sure that it's one piece of media. Is there any way that she can return one of the tickets to AAA and just upgrade the other?

I don't see why they wouldn't accomodate you in that type of transaction. I would call:
