Not sure how this works since this is our first time using an Annual Pass for our December trip.

Does the check in date of your stay qualify the entire stay for the Annual Pass discount if the check out date exceeds the final date the discount is given through??
Example: Discounts are given through to December 26th and our stay is December 19th through January 1st.

I know this is the case with our Disney Club discount, but not sure about Annual Pass.

Thanks for any help given!!! :)

Yes. If you check in Dec. 19th with an AP rate of $79, you should be given that rate every night of your stay.

When dates for AP discounts come out, this dates are check in dates. For example: If AP discounts are available from 11/28/03-12/26/03, that means you could check in on Dec. 26th, (the last day for AP rates), and receive the AP discount each night for your entire stay.

That's how it's been explained to me. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks,

That is correct, unless they have changed something.

It has worked for us that way, many times in the past.

Yes, that's correct. That little tidbit can work to your advantage or disadvantage. Let's say you checked-in on the last day of a holiday or peak season, you would be charged the higher rate for your entire stay, even though most of your stay was during a value season.

You can often avoid that by making 2 separate reservations. One for the beginning of your stay, and the other with a check-in date that coincides with the beginning of the lower cost season. You would have to check-in again for your 2nd reservation and there is always a chance that you would have to change rooms mid-stay. But if the savings are significant, it would certainly be worth it.

Of course, you're already on the better side of the deal this time. Just keep this in mind for your future trips.

The check in date establishes the rate (peak season, off season) for the entire stay but...

If some nights in the middle of your stay are sold out as far as the AP rate is concerned, your request for AP rates will be rejected. But you can split the stay to get teh AP rates for some of the nights.

Except you may run into the problem of the second half beginning in peak season and then if you do get the AP rate, it is based on the peak season rate.
