Yesterday was a very happy day for me!

That is, for me and the rest of my family.

My niece was finally allowed to come home from the hospital.

As you may recall, she had a bone marrow transplant in late April. She has a long way to go until she'll be fully recovered from the illness she has, but we are hopeful that she'll be alright.

It seems that the kid has cheated death once again! Unbelievable. You wouldn't believe all the serious health problems she has battled since coming down with ALL leukemia a little over 10 years ago.

Anyway, to all of the kind people here who prayed for her and offered me support, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Most DIS posters are totally awesome. Love you guys.

My mother had a stem-cell transplant almost 7 years ago and I remember our happy day, actually one of the top 5 of my life.

That is such wonderful news to celebrate for your niece. I teach a little girl in sunday school. She is now 12 and had her bone marrow transplant 10 years ago. She is doing pretty well for all she went through. Blessings to your niece.
