How do telemarketers get away with using names that aren't really theirs?

It actually may have been a telemarketing or survey firm doing business on behalf of Disney.

Most telemarketing firms use automated systems with several telephone lines, the laws now require that they use a caller ID. Most have some kind of system where a number appears that really isn't the number of the caller but is an identification of the business and you should be able to call that number and get a recording or something giving you additional information on the company and how to contact them. It's really all in a computer somewhere not a real line like our home phones.
