YES, we are "That Family"...everyone has a postion to play right?

So it was a great full day, and we were on our way back home-via Jersey. You see, if we take the Holland Tunnel and end up in downtown Jersey City..so we did, and we do. While in Jersey we pick up a gallon of milk, as that little one needs his 9 ozs of warm milk to function in the morning. And at $2.39, we stop here at least once a week before heading to our neck of the woods. So, were making our way home and we pass a bakery. Oh no! I had totally forgot that I had promised Conner that I would make cupcakes for his class to celebrate in school the next day. Crap (but the grown up crap)! So, we stop at Judickie's (home of the famous sprinkled donut), to inquire about possibly getting 16 cupcakes. Sure they have loads still availible, but get this .85cents per donut :sad2:. No, not .89cents each. I mean your plain Jane style cupcake, little sprinkles-nothing over the top. Not a big deal when your talking 2 for the boys..but 16. I'll pass, so we do. I tell my dh to get home as fast as possible without bodily harm, so I can whip up some cupcakes for 7am the next morning. So we get home, I turn over all bedtime agendas and what not's to my dh to handle. My kids take full advantage of daddy when they can, and they definately were so extra that night. If you could have heard the nonsense that comes out of his mouth..hilarious! It's so crazy the way he allows them to call all of the shots, but I was deep in cake mix and could not go up and pull it all together. So, I get the cupcakes done and baked before the kids are even in the bed!!! So yes, we(read he) ARE that family that allows their kids to go to bed at 10:30-11:00. I come up, suggest they go to sleep to avoid hurt feelings, and they are out in 5-10 minutes. I wake up at 6 the next morning to frost, sprinkle, and add some of the $22 gummy bears to the top of the cupcakes before I send them and Conner out to school. I return to Conner's school later to participate in the celebration with Zachy

(which was just sensory overload for him), and bring the non-candy goodies for the kids. 16 helium filled birthday balloons, 1 for every boy and or girl.

They loved it, and it only cost me $1 each...score for me!

We leave school, and I drop off both kids w/ my sister at Mom-Moms house so that I could get the party goods.

You should know that Conner is not allowed any Wii, Ds, Cubes, Or Boxes etc to play with. "WE" choose to buy educational games, toys etc...what others (read Mom-Mom) gets is what she gets! Mom-Mom is my mother, petite but 8ft tall in her every word. You know the type..5 foot nothing, with a big suv.

That's her...all day long. Conner is Mom-mom's one, you know, the one she loves the most out of the grands. Yeah, keep thinking that they don't have favorites if you choose, but there is always one. Congratulations Conner, you are him! We buy, Leapster-Smart Cycle-Learning Links-Puzzles-Calculators....Mom-mom buys Pac-Man plug-ups! Conner can not get enough of it, and fell in love the 1st time he played. Which happened to be Valentines 2008. So there is no surprise when you find out he requested a Pac-Man birthday cake. And that is what I ordered. Monteleon's bakery is the best, and they made the cake for me for only $35. The Rincon is where we ordered catered spanich food, and Party City is where I got the decor.

I'm in and yes everyone does love a Jersey Girl ;)!

I'm South Jersey though, so I guess I'm a little backwards, Eagles fan, Phillies Fan here! My dh is a Giants fan though, so we have to have Directv so he can have the NFL ticket and watch his precious Giants, not (where's the puking smilie when you need it!) Did used to love going into Hoboken & the city back in my college days, but can't afford it anymore now that I have kids! :lmao:

Sounds like the birthday was fun, except for the weather! I can feel your pain, it's been crappy here too!

Can't wait to hear about T-Rex when you get back! We are heading down in June and I just made a ressie there for our 1st night. I think ds will love it - he's 8! Make sure you post about it!

I totally will cosign on the DH's not caring how we got them from A to B. DH thinks he has me fooled, when I am talking he will be nodding and ahuhing in all the right places, but I know he isn't really listening, I will ask him, are you listening to me? he'll be all, yeah, yeah, go on. So I finish up knowing he hasn't heard a frickin thing I've said, but to my advantage this works. Because a few days later I'll say, "I need that 50 bucks now." He of course will look all confused. So I go on, "You know, the other day when I was talking to you about blah blah, I said I would need 50 and you said yes." Now he can give me the 50 dollars and maybe learn to listen in the future, or he can admit he wasn't paying attention and it will ultimately cost him $100 because I can milk that "you don't love me, you never listen to me." speal for all it's worth.

Anywhoo, you are one funny lady, your boys are gorgeous, Have a great trip and I hope there will be a trip report when you get back.

Anyway back to your thread, I can't see any of your pictures except for the ones on your birthday post. :confused3 But I am quite excited for the rest of your pj!! You're a very entertaining read!

South Jersey is cool too! We get down there for the summer...you know
"Go down the shore!"-see you in July & August:thumbsup2
I'm with your dh, GIANTS COUNTRY! I love Hoboken for 1 thing, and 1 thing only......ARTHURS STEAKHOUSE:love:
Yeah, I can't afford alot of things with these kids...I mean a girl can't get anything that's not on our budget (but I still do  , he doesn't listen when I speak anyway)
Yeah so T-Rex is supposed to be really nice, and I know my 2 will love it..they go for things like that. I will definately let you know about it when we get back.

Ok, so your dh is a mess too huh?! :confused3
But you have some stuff with you too...I'm not mad at it, but wow! Milk it till you can't milk no more!! Right on:laughing:

I think I can squeeze out a trip report....gotta let you know if I'm still married and all after this ride right?!

you are too much! this should be a fun ride. Hopefully no ER visits this trip or reservations desk freak outs. (Although better you than me). I am an Irish girl from Jersey with a temper. And it will be June. And I am pregnant.
I have lived in Alabama for five years and it has not mellowed me out one bit.

So, I get everything to the house..and set up. And Conner has to see his Pacman cake, and couldn't wait to show him. So I get it all unwrapped at show him

It was like the baker read my mind on this one. He was in love:love:
He was so happy that he started dancing out of nowhere, and you know what happened next..a little something called BREAKDANCE!
derazd.jpg

It's nonstop with him! I mean I put him in creative movement to preserve his love of dance and movement, and it ends up breakdance. So slowly all of the crew comes in from their different days (work, school etc). This is the normal crew, you know the ones..family and friends that live close and come to every function that you have. (At Mom-Mom's that is, no one wants to spend the $8 to cross the bridge for everything we do)
s2uof5.jpg

Trev, Conner, Seth, Zachy.
(nicknames as follows : Trev is actually Rodney..don't ask, Conner is Beaky or Beak to me, dh & my sister..he's Stinky or Stink to Mom-Mom, and Snoop Dogg to my father..I used to braid his hair alot before, long story), Seth is Baby brother, and Zachy is Mini to Mom-Mom, Little Poppa or See-ta to me, dh & my sister. I know, it's too much..but that's what we do in my family..we nickname everyone!)
waljpj.jpg

Grandma & Grandpa Conner Mom-Mom & Dad (the kids call my father dad and my dh daddy..funny but they know who they are calling when we are all together)
29gczkn.jpg

Aunt Mary..who is Sister to us, my mothers sister
315cy9t.jpg

Malcolm/Runt..who is Richard
29ngz2t.jpg

RaJohn..my nephew, who is John to Conner & Zachy...just as a side (he has a 4 yr full schlorship to Fairleigh Dickinson in Madison, NJ..we are all so proud of this one.)

We all eat, cut cake (which if you look leaves everyones mouth black), and open gifts. Conner got V-Motion from grandma & grandpa by way of me..long story. A deluxe PacMan extra plug-in from the crew at Mom-Mom's house, along with cars, money, bubble gun, books, and candy. A Walgreen's giftcard from my sister (they live down the street from one, and the kids want to go there everyday like it's an around the way bodega), so very fitting. Forgot a picture of her..so here she is. Godmother to both kids, 26yrs old, college graduate, city girl! My-Tia is what Zachy says...loves her second to me, is attached like glue whenever she is around. Zachy is her one!
2s0gsv9.jpg

Conner got more money, disks for his Computer Cool School, balloons, etc. It was a really good time and we all had fun. So we will be doing his birthday also on this trip, as it isn't too long since then..right?!
Up next...more plans

Yeah, I am. I try though, seriously..that's all I can do. I don't know how my dh deals with me..the paitence of a saint?

There will definately be something jumpin off while your there :laughing::scared1::laughing:! GOOD LUCK.:lmao:

I went to college in NC (NCCU..Eagle Pride), and my time there did nothing for me either. It's just who we are..product of our enviroment, and water supply:thumbsup2

Yeah, its ridiculous. How can somebody be that old, and not know how to function without being given every flippin step. I have 2 little kids, and 1 big kid..seriously.
I know, I want to bite Zachy cheeks all day! I somedays I just squeeze Conner for no reason at all.:goodvibes
I have a big plastic Tupperware thingy full of only Disney stuff. Clothes, shoes, hats, shades, floaties...etc. I have everybodys stuff ready, just gotta iron now. You should know I iron everything! With my oldest being so darn thin, I have to crease all of his pants, and sometimes sweats so he doesn't look like he has clown pants on! My house is always a wreck..but my mother and sister always come over after we leave to clean up before we get back...bless there clean little hearts:love:
But get moving missy...and get your house in order!
