Sami

Today we have an 8:40 reservation for the Crystal Palace so we have to be up early. I am up by 6:30 and start waking the troops at 7. Sami is the biggest Pooh fan and is very excited to eat breakfast with pooh ( she keeps asking if he can eat at our table :) ) We make it to the ticket and transportation center alittle before 8. we stop to visit and take picture of our brick--our tradition is each visit we all put one foot on the brick at the same time and snap a picture. When we head in, they are only letting people with priority seatings to the monorail or to the boat, everyone else has to wait. We decide to take the monorail over. I can't remember if the boat was running this early. After the security check, today they even checked the bottom of the strollers, we again go to the sign for priority seatings, they check to see if we are on the list and in we go to the park. Again, main street is mostly empty and we snap more pictures and notice more of the christmas decorations that have went up.
Over to the Crystal Palace and we are seated pretty quickly, piglet shows up before we even get to the buffet. We go get our food--I like how they make omelets to order here. Next was eeyore and then tigger. Pooh stays in the middle of the restaurant and we go up to see him before we head out to the park. Since Sami was so excited we were happy Pooh was all by himself when we got to him and she ran right up to him and gave him a BIG hug. While he was signing the kids books another child pushes sami out of the way to get to Pooh and all her mother says was "go ahead and give Pooh a hug" I guess Sami turned invisible for a moment
At this point the park is open but not as crowded as it gets later on and we are able to ride--I can't remember the order anymore but we rode Pirates, Peter pan and small world. We head over to Pooh Bear (we had gotten fast passes earlier) While on the line, I notice people coming up to a man and getting their pictures taken, I see him autograph a hat so I said to Doug, Who is that? He looks over and says its Barry Bonds! Dylan went over and got an autograph (he signed his mickey mouse autograph book) and I took a picture of the two of them. Ryan was too shy to go up. Alot of people were taking pictures of him at this point. His wife and child came off the pooh ride and away they went. I thought we would see them again but we never did. Dylan was very excited about the autograph. After Pooh bear, we decide to head to the haunted mansion, Allie loves this ride. The line is long so we head to the pirates and ride this again. Next we head back to the haunted mansion the line is longer so we give in and wait, it moved pretty quickly but the park is crowded. After the stretching room when they herd you into the room to get on the buggy a lady kept pushing her daughter into my behind(I don't know how she expected to get around there was no room--there was so many people in there at this point) I heard her daughter say, I am being squished and her mother replies when people squish you, just shove them--huh--she is shoving her child into me and she wants her to shove me. Doug and I both said at the same time, that's a nice thing to do. Her answer was--that's right just shove them. Whatever, we just turn around, she continues to push into my family--i guess she needed to get on the ride a whole 10 seconds faster by pushing between us. I finally turned around and said--we are ALL together and I took Allies hand and put her up with me and Doug followed. I have to say she was the only rude person we encountered the whole time we were there. I found most people to be courteous.
We next went to fantasyland and it was a zoo. I think we next went on the railroad ride in toon town and rode it all around the park. We probably did some stuff in tomorrowland but for some reason my memory is fading me today--since the kids are at school and doug is not home--i have no one to ask! I am determined to see the parade and head to frontiertown to secure a spot for the parade. I decide on the spot in front of the little hat store they have there--its still about 45 minutes until the parade. Doug, allie and dylan have fast passes for splash mountain so they head off. Ryan sami and me enjoy our snack of popcorn and just people watch in our spots. the three of them return and I finally get to see the parade with a good view. We tape the whole thing and Allie is picked to go out by one of the mary poppins dancers--she gets to hold one of the brooms (i think its a broom) I really like this parade.
For the rest of the day we did our usual rides--buzz, people mover, Doug and Dylan did Space Mountain, carousel, pirates, small world. IF we didn't have a fast pass, we just dealt with the lines--with minor complaining from the kids ;)
We again ate at the Plaza Pavillion for dinner--pizza and chicken strips. This place never seems crowded and you do get a nice view of the castle.
On our way out, we stopped at the bakery, doug, dylan and me got a slice of cake. Allie and ryan got the hand made ice cream sandwiches (sami was sleeping in the stroller). I tried the ice cream sandwiches and they were great. I think I ended up eating most of Ryans--they are HUGE. For the rest of trip, everytime we are in the magic kingdom I am getting one!
Getting back to the ticket and transportation wasn't too bad, and it was nice not to have to wait for a tram, we could just walk to our truck, since we had gotten such a good spot.
Overall, we had a good day, it was crowded, but like I said we find Easters crowds are bigger then what we saw on thanksgiving so we didn't feel overwhelmed.
I still think we did alot today and we stayed until just about park closing.
My only disappointment was I couldn't get a reservation for the Liberty Tree Tavern--I tired from the 60 day mark up until that morning. I did have a reservation for 1900 park faire but I canceled it since we had eat with pooh for breakfast.

How exciting having your dd picked to be in the parade. I know she will always remember it!! What a great Disney moment. :)

Sounds like a fun day, despite a bit of rudeness. Glad to hear breakfast at Crystal Palace is still enjoyable, we are eating there in January. :)

I think it's so neat that Sammi was picked to participate in the parade. What a wonderful memory.

Thanks for sharing another excellent installment of your trip report with us.
