Yes, Stitch is that bad!

My family of 5, including children aged 12, 10, and 6, saw Stitch's Great Escape last Thursday. All I can say is that yes, it is as mediocre as advertised. Disney should be ashamed of themselves for promoting something that is obviously this bad. It disappoints me to think that they thought this production was up to the usual high standards of Disney. We had no wait and walked right on so it isn't like we wasted a lot of time on this ride or whatever you call it. It is difficult to describe how you feel during it, but when we walked out we all agreed that it was a waste of time. Unlike other Disney attractions there were no cries of let's do it again. I was skeptical, thinking that it couldn't be this bad, but yes it is. And what is really annoying is that it is either number 3 or 4 on that show that highlights the top 7 must-dos at Disney.

I agree 100%!!! DH and I thought it was awful.....the only thing we were happy about is that when we went on we had no wait....if we had waited for a long time for a ride of that caliber, we would have been more disappointed....

I second everything that's been said. It was awful and we won't do it again.

I was there last Oct for a soft opening.........waited 40 min.........wouldn't go back in there again to get out of thunderstorm!

I didn't DISLIKE it, I just thought it was a toned down and somewhat lame copy of Alien. I'm glad I did it, don't see any reason to do it again. BTW, a kid next to me, probably about 5 absolutely freaked out in the dark. People getting hacked to death probably make less of a fuss than he did. His dad, or the adult with him, flipped open his cell phone to give him some light, to no avail. I never saw any such thing during the Alien incarnation so I was a little surprised at this.

We are going at the end of May and being the Disney Freak :earseek: that I am I will try it at least once just to see what it is about. I will most definitely wait until there is a short line to do it because after all of the comments I have heard I refuse to wait more than 5 minutes to get in. What I was wondering is...I heard a while back on this board and the Rumors board that it was scheduled to shut down for the imagineers to come back in and add some extras. Has anyone else heard this? Maybe a CM might be able to shed some light on if there is a rehab in this attractions near future??? :confused3

I just think that Disney should be ashamed for closing down an attraction and opening the new attraction back up to simply find out it's a complete duplicate of the first.

Shame shame shame, and I don't fault the Imagineers, I fault the micromanaging moron over them at the highest level.

I experienced it during a soft opening while I was there last year. I enjoyed the Alien Encounter more, but thought Stitch was funny. I definitely don't feel the need to sit through another Escape though. It was worth doing once in my opinion.

My bf and I thought it was funny and cute. Simple story, scary but not too scary, and incredible animatronics- Stitch and the laser guns moved so fluid and realistic.

I hated Alien Encounter, so I think Stitch is a vast improvement. -Steph

Rode Stitch this past Monday.....won't do it again. I would do Alien Encounter again though. Stitch did nothing for me or for my kids (7 and 4) though they are the target audience they are looking for on this ride. My 7 year old said she like Alien Encounter better. Definitely not a must do and don't wait longer than five minutes for it. The overall special effects aren't anything close to Alien......its a shame. I only rode Alien once but I loved it!

Oh no was it really that bad??:confused3:

I love Stitch.:dancer:

One Q i have for all those who have done the ride, does the shop after have loads of stitch merchandise?? I'm looking forward to spendin alot of my dollars here if they do heheh

They won't even need to do a survey on this attraction to find out how customers' feel about it, because before long they'll know simply by the que times and lengths, which I'm sure after everyone has ridden it once, the lines will surely be non existent.

We were just there in January and our 2 DS's(9 & 6.5) really liked it. It might be my youngest DS's favorite. We thought it was good but not scary. Of course it is not meant to be scary as the target audience is young Stitch fans. We enjoyed it because our son continues to explain to people what happened to him(won't spoil for those who haven't been). Animitronics are very good including the entry speech.

I still have yet to see what Stitch is all about. From all of the negative comments I'm really hesitant to wait in a line to be this disappointed. I'm furious that they took out Alien Encounter, I never got to see that ride. :( Oh well. If it's a walk-on wait maybe I'll try it during my next trip ... In 25 days! :)

I didn't see it myself buy my husband and 13 year old saw it and my 13 year old loved it - thought it was awesome.

So do the seats move at all or does it pretty much stay stationary?

Can someone explain to me how the ride goes? I have never rode Alien Encounter, so I don't know how the ride goes either? Would this ride be okay for my 6 yrs old? She doesn't like being in the dark and doesn't like loud noise either (actually she's like me!). Thanks! We do like Stitch!

you move through pre-shows into the main chamber. you have a seat - they're stationary- and the 'restraints' slide down and touch your shoulders and then adjust upwards about a quarter inch. they are the medium that the 4-d effects are sprayed onto you. you watch the show in periods of total darkness while stich does his thing, as a very realistic animatronic, or as a mind trick in the dark. it retrofitted AE's attraction with the stitch upgrades, and it is absolutely horrible.
