After several emails and phone calls to Virgin Holidays they have finally acknowledged that the Fantasia pool at All Star Movies will be closing for 3 months. They have also agreed to my request for alternative accommodation because of this and we now have two rooms at All Star Music at no extra cost!! Yaaaaayyyyyy!!! Big up to Mr David Higgins, executive at VH Customer Services for all his help throughout. Just goes to show you shouldn't always accept whatever they throw your way to begin with - persistence is definitely the keyword!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1:  :cheer2: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

really pleased that you manged to get the right result, I know that this was bothering you a lot, your perseverance has paid off for you - well done... As per our previous thread on this, we will be at Movies in october but just for two nights, which is not too bad for us, but if like you it had been two weeks I would have been gutted. What dates are you going, maybe we can have a drink at the Music pool to celebrate

Virgin must be having a good day today - someone has actually acknowledged an e-mail from me quering the 3 free days offer.....i only sent the email on Sunday am!! Still at least you have good news (let's hope i'm next) :thumbsup2

Well done that's excellent news. I just don't get Virgin sometimes. They failed to tell you about renovations which could have a negative impact on your holiday yet we have had two letters from them this week to advise us that the hotel chain we are going to in December is becoming non smoking and apologising if this causes us problems! As neither DH or myself have ever smoked I have no idea why they think it is of such great importance to us

We'll be there from Oct 25th to Nov 8th Jules. Does that overlap with your dates at all??

Glad you got a good result. :thumbsup2 Well done for keeping on at them.

Sara. :)

The Fantasia pool will be closed from Sept 11 to Dec 11. I can't help you with the heating question but I would imagine it would be heated then.

John

We will be at ASM the 13th and 14th October and then on the Wonder for four nights, we will have moved to the Saratoga by the 25th - that is a shame, we could have had a celebratory cocktail (or two) !!

It's a good job this board exists... what would have happened if you'd got there and the pool had been closed with no prior warning?!

I don't think it's *that* much on Virgin's account though... I mean I'd have been impressed if they'd checked you into a moderate at no extra cost, but isn't AsMu exactly the same price? :confused3

Yes it is the same price, but they waived the £25 per person amendment fee, thereby saving us £150! Plus, our kids will be able to go to a pool without having to fight for space! Means a lot to us.
