I have always found them a little pricey. Let me have all details like, dates, how much you were quoted, where you want to collect from etc and I will have a look at the 3 or 4 companies I use.
Having been in the same dilema this time last year I was advised to check out usrentacar.com
I found them the cheapest by far.
A further good bit of advise I was given was to enrol with Dollar Express. Registration is free, and been a member enables you to go straight to the Dollar Express line, which in my experience had no one waiting unlike the standard line which had 10 people plus waiting to be served.
I also found them to be very cheap, so cheap i have been a bit worried about booking. I found them cheaper than any quotes by usrentacar. I found a few threads on here with people who have used them and had no problems
They were by far the cheapest for me and i asked the same question on here and had only positive replies.I paid on the friday night late and by monday morning i had my check in slip for alamo so can only say so far the service is excellent. Ill try and find the link to my question so you can read the positive replies that I got !!

They look about best prices around, I have not used Alamo since Xmas 8 years ago, had a bad experience with them when they ran out of cars but recently they seem OK from what people say, you can choose a car when you get there instead of being given a car like Dollar and Budget.
Can't get within about £30 for the 7 seater, great price.
I have used Yescarhire and found them good, Alamo. When we booked with Virgin the last two trips we have used their cars, Dollar. The advantage with Alamo was they would run out of cars and upgrade you for free! Dollar have too many cars and don't run out!!! If we go back this year I will use the free car that Virgin supply but use www.insuranceforcarehire.com Apparently they offer insurance as an annual premium and are very competitive. I have posted on this before and have received positive feedback. Heres hoping the $ weakens against £.
My only experience with Alamo was like I said Xmas 8 years ago, they ran out of cars, I don't mean ran out of a catagory they totally ran out, it was not a one off, I have spoke to others who have had same problem.
We eneded up having to take a taxi to Disney, agrue with the taxi driver who was paying the fare as Alamo didn't tell me I had to pay then claim back. Lose a days car rental and then get another taxi back to airport next evening over 24 hours later. Had to wait for manager to give me refund for taxi fares($100) then they had the cheek to start with the hard pressure selling to upgrade. Not used them since, I am ready to try them again at the right price but it would have to be a fair bit cheaper than others.
On the other hand Dollar used about 17 times, always book fullsize been upgraded free at least half of the rentals. Lastest was this Xmas. Booked 2 dr Fullsize got free upgrade to 7 seater Dodge Caravan SE with delivery milage only. I do believe Dollar Express card helps with upgrade, been upgraded almost every rental since I got it 2 years ago.
Budget I got free upgrade in the offer from Usrentacar last August, no problem using them again with their fastbreak service.
I've also used Yescarhire about 4 times over the last few years without any problems. I am impressed that they issue a slip of paper with the booking voucher telling you what you will be offered by way of extras from Alamo and pointing out that these are salespeople and work on commission
Oh yes, and I got a useful calendar magnet last year too and am hoping they send me a new one as it sits next to my computer.
