Yes, We have a stroller dilemma. DS 4 and DS 18 months. My husband and I are undecided.. Should we take one double stroller or two singles? Space is not an issue as I will be driving to WDW w/my (convertible) I mean minivan!! We figured we would leave the answer to this question with the Disney experts..So what do you think?? Thanks

If you have a husband that is a stroller master, then by all means take two singles and get those "clips" to snap them together when you want to treat them as riding in a sbs stroller.

If you have a husband like mine that is clueless about pushing a stroller, please assist (and preserve the ankles of) all the other visitors to Disney and bring a double stroller solely for you to "drive". ;)

We brought a regular double stroller and one single umbrella during our last visit. It was nice having the single at DTD and other short trips. Often the 4 yo wanted to walk anyway. Not to mention, it's easier to shop with a single stroller. :goodvibes

I wouldnt want to take two strollers into the park, because when ds4 wanted to walk, then you would still ahve two strollers to push, AND have to chase him :earseek:

Just my thoughts, you know your kids the best, but it seems it would be easier to just have to push one thing, and then the 'free' adult could do the chasing!

Have a great trip!

My vote is for 2 smaller umbrella strollers...Last 10/05 my kids were 4 and 2. LOVED the 2 umbrellas b/c they were so easy to fold/push/travel with. My double is so big and bulky. It is very hard to manuver. I can't imagine trying to get on busses or the train with that honkin' thing! :goodvibes

I just went to Babies Rus and got the cheapo strollers with the canopies. They had mesh bags hanging in the back for some "stuff" Not as roomy as my regular single but not as bulky either....

Have fun! :Pinkbounc

If space is not an issue I'd take a double and a single. Use both strollers and have the extra seat on the double to store your stuff. It is easier to get things out of the seat rather than digging underneath. We used this strategy when all we had was a double stroller and our oldest was too big to fit in the double. We used the double for the younger child and rented a single for the older child. My oldest DD has trouble doing a lot of walking due to an orthopaedic problem with her feet so we used a stroller even though she was 5.

One downside of two strollers is if you want to split up (say you want your DH to run to get fast passes on a ride elsewhere in the park) you are stuck either staying in one spot or trying to maneuver two strollers at once. It can be done but it takes concentration!

We used a double with our then 2 1/2 yo ds and 6 mos dd. It was perfect! But we are going again and now they will be just shy of 3 and 1 yr and we will be bringing 2 singles (though I may do the double and a single as someone suggested!) We will have 4 adults (our mothers are coming too). One reason for the two strollers is that dd is getting frustrated in the back- hard to see things, hits her brother in the head, etc.

Another reason is naps-If you kids will nap in the stroller, take this into consideration. My kids will definately sleep in their strollers so umbrellas are out for us. The regular size singles work because they are separate- if one falls asleep, the other won't wake them. I can recline them, etc if I have the singles. In the double, if I recline the front, dd gets squashed and she has easier access to her brother! If dd is sleeping in the back, and I try to get ds in and out, it will disrupt her. If you have a side by side, you have to worry about them bothering each other! We have a side by side and if one falls asleep, the other has to be still and not bother them.

That being said, if naps aren't an issue, you just have to gauge what your kids will be most comfortable in, especially if they don't mind being in the stroller!

When our DS's were 3.5 and 7 months, we took one stroller. DS3.5 didn't use one at home, except on exteremly rare circumstances and figured the baby could go in the front pack during those times. Well, to say the least when we went the next time DS's were 4 and 15 months. We took a double. WDW is not the normal stroller habits of older children. Much more exhausting than the zoo, six flags or Sea World. Plus, just the idea of keeping them contained whenever you need to...

I, personally, wouldn't want to keep track of two strollers. Twice the issues with pushing around strollers and then when the CMs move them they can be in two far off places. Plus, then nobody ever has a hand free. Not my idea of fun. And as far as the stroller clips go, I don't like them. They just never feel very secure to me and I know people who have had them break on them. Bonus is having the extra space when the older child is out and walking. Shopping at WDW with a double is a lot easier than at the mall--WDW expects double strollers, the mall just wants your $$$. I also found a double was very minimal extra work over a single. But that is just me.

I say 2 singles. I HATED when we brought a double stroller to Disney. It made our trip miserable. It was difficult to deal with in gift shops, crowds, the monorails, trams, etc. The kids were heavy to push around all day. The next trip we did 2 lightweight single strollers and it was SOOOO much easier.

For this next trip what we are going to do is bring 2 single strollers and store all the bags and such in one of them, and then leave the 2nd stroller empty. So when we switch off for rides and stuff like that we can just park the empty stroller and my son can walk next to me while I push the other stroller.

Do the sbs strollers fit in stores and such....or is it like going to the mall and you get stuck in isle ways not being wide enough...was thinking the two single for that reason
