Sorry about another hotel question.....

We were originally looking only at hotels very close/walking distance to DL, as we were trying to avoid a rental car. Well, slight change of plans and now we will have a rental car. So we can look into hotels further away, to save $$. A few questions first....

#1. How much is parking per day in the DL lot?

#2. Is the traffic so bad around there that we would be frustrated trying to travel 1-2 miles to the park from a hotel? In other words, I would like to save $20+/night on my hotel, but not if it means sitting in traffic every morning for 30 minutes or more!

We currently have reservations at HoJo Anaheim. It will be around $99/night. Higher than originally quoted, but we had a change of dates ( ). Here are the ones I am looking at..... Thanks in advance for any and all input!!! Love you all!............P

Days Inn/Suites at Anaheim Convention Ctr..... $74/night
Park Vue Inn..... $75/night
Best Western Stovall's Inn.... $81/night
Super 8 Disneyland/Convention Ctr.........$60/night
Best Value Inn and Suites Anaheim East......$70 night

There was another link posted about the HoJo where we discussed this. With an entertainment card you can get rates of $45-60 per night (and that's for premium Disney view rooms). You just have to show the card at check-in. They are pretty cheap to buy right now, only about $17 online, or you can just borrow the card if someone you know has it (it doesn't have your name or anything on it.) We're going Apr 16-23 and got a $60 rate; several other posters got the $45 rate (can't remember their dates.) Since parking is $9 a day, you won't be saving that much. We're staying at HoJo but still getting the car, just in case.

We have a AAA rate of $54.95/night at the Carousel.

I think I read that parking has now gone up to $10 per day, so by saving $20 per night on the hotel, then paying $10 to park, you really are only saving $10, not worth it in my opinion.

By to answer your question, traffic is not too bad, so you won't be fighting the crowds in that respect. Now I must admit, I haven't seen the traffic around the main parking garage since I always stay at a hotel on Harbor. But for traffic in general around the resort I've never seen it become a nightmare. Also, keep in mind, you could end up parking you car at a lot that is farther away than your hotel, then taking a shuttle to the front.

Another option, instead of using the car, is to use the Anaheim Resort Transportation. There are stops near most of the area hotels, and you can get a multi-day pass for $9 per person.

Have you called the hotels directly to get rates? Many times you will get a better rate than using any of the online sites. Mention AAA, Entertainment, and Mousesavers (at HoJo) and you'll get a good rate.
