Yes...another Disney Vacation Account question regarding purchasing DVC Annual Passes

We have been collecting gift cards for the last year toward our DVC AP which we will need to purchase in May so we can make FP+ reservations. DVC said we can only use two forms of payment per AP. That's a bummer because we have probably 5 or 6 cards and need to buy two AP's. Would it be possible to deposit the gift cards into the Disney Vacation Account and use the funds in there to purchase the AP's that would count as one form of payment and the rest we could put on our card? I really just do not want to put that entire amount on our credit card and this way, we still have a couple of more months to save towards our food, etc.

ETA - is there a time frame I need to be concerned with? We can start making our FP+ reservations May 1st. Just not sure if I have to have funds in the account for a certain amount of time before I can use them, and is it an instant transaction that DVC would use those funds toward the purchase?

Can APs with the DVC discount not be purchased directly from Disney Ticketing?? It seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to purchase from main ticketing and just have them apply the DVC discount. IF you can purchase them through main ticketing, the gift card issue is easy......all you have to do is call 407-566-4985, OPTION 5 and you will be able to provide as many gift cards as you would like. Many have reported using over 30 gift cards (purchased from Target I'm sure). When using that option, the gift cards count as one form of payment, so if you run short just use your credit card for the difference. Hope this helps!

I was told by Member Services I have to purchase through them, so they can only accept the two forms of payment. I agree, purchasing through Disney would make it so much simpler.

Many DVC members have reported paying their annual dues with multiple gift cards (as I plan to do), some even faxing a list. I would think there has to be a way to buy your APs with multiple cards without setting up the bank account. Let's see what some others think about this.

I just called Member Services, and you all are correct! I can purchase through WDW ticketing and get the DVC discount and use the multiple gift cards. I was told that I had to purchase them through MS. Boy that makes it so much easier!

FWIW, the DVC AP is not a "discount" applied to an AP.
Instead, the DVC AP is its own form of a base AP (like the FL resident AP) that happens to have a lower MSRP.

That's why Ticketing can select the DVC AP without needing a special discounting system.

Correct, the DVC AP is what you get after the DVC "discount" has been applied to the normal AP. The discount is a set amount and can be discontinued at anytime. The discount is offered by Disney on their AP which is why I couldn't understand why someone from MS would say the AP had to be purchased through them only and could not be purchased through main ticketing.
