Yes - Another Croc Question - Jewels on Crocs??

Ok, I know what crocks are but do you guys really wear these to Disney?
I mean they look sooo uncomfertable and I would think your feet would get so sweaty and slide around in the shoe so much it would be hard to walk for any distance. I guess I need to try some on sometime :confused3

I threw mine into the dryer and now they are perfect. My toes don't touch the end and the strap stretched out a little. I love wearing them.

Be careful with the dryer-- I got a pair of Payless-alikes and put in dryer for 10 minutes and they got a little too small. Second pair larger, also put in dryer but checked every few minutes and it worked out fine. So be careful. I guess I used the regular dryer heat.

I was wondering how well they cleaned up? I was hoping on using them as garden clogs also. I hate to spend $90 for the kids and I to get a pair and really only use them for Disney. Since we all need new garden clogs i was hoping the crocs could be used for both, but this will only work if they clean well.
They actually started out as shoes that surgeons, surgical nurses and surgical techs wore in surgery. They were comfortable to wear all day, could be cleaned easily, were not hurt/damaged by any type of disinfectant and could be sterilized in an autoclave (high temperature steam). Common operating temperatures for autoclaves are 121-132 degrees Centigrade (much hotter than your dryer).

On my 3rd pair (wore out 1st pair of beach - no tread left & they're slippy).

I live in Pittsburgh, got sick of my feet getting wet over the winter so I bought a pair of the closed-in ones. Like them better for fit (got a size 8, as opposed to the the size Med. 8-9 I've been wearing). Wear w/the furry lounging type socks - so comfy. Do think they'd be too hot for summer, unless I wear the no-show socks.
I use Armour All for a quick shine :sunny: . Do throw them in a hot shower now & again.

If Disney was smart, they'd start selling charactar ones in the parks. :donald: Do the jewels go all the way thru the holes...can you feel them?

I've done the dryer trick with 2 pairs of Crocs, and it worked like a charm both times. I used low heat for about 2 or 3 minutes, then just wore them around the house for a bit with socks on. Now they fit perfectly, socks or no socks.

Yes, the jewels go right through the holes. It's almost like a pierced earring stud. They have a demo on their site...you have to take the front and back apart, then apply a drop of superglue to attach them together. Then, after it dries, you 'wedge' the jewel into the hole. And then you can pop them out to change them. The back side looks pretty flat so I'm hoping they don't bother the tops of our feet.
I also have to get a new pair. They are my favorite shoe both for winter and summer. The only time my feet have gotten sweaty is in the ones I bought for the winter with no holes whatsoever. My feet stayed toasty but sweaty. So, I only wear them if I'm outside for some reason.
Now, I just have to decide on two colors...I'm going to splurge and buy two pair since my dd, 12, absconded with my purple ones. Hmmmm....dare I buy the lime green ones!!?

If you buy the lime green ones, we'll know you're a DIS'er for sure!:woohoo:

I'm so conservative - all mine are basic black (need a ::MickeyMo )

I got the white Cayman style last night and wore them all day. I was careful with sizing, and my foot only touches at the sole. However, what are the little bumpy things on the sole? THe whole bottom of my foot now feels like it is going to blister! Do all the styles have these bumps!?

I bought some for my dd6, I thought they were cute, they came off the first day and she lost them. I did glue them on just like the store lady told us. I was so disappointed they were $2 a piece. :headache: :headache: :guilty:

I just spent 8 days at the parks and wore my Crocs everyday, I didn't even pack any other shoes, just my 3 pair of Crocs! (They were great at the airport security, while everyone was busy taking off/putting on their shoes, I just sailed right through with mine on! :boat: ) I wear them everyday at work, and I'm on my feet for 6-8 hours a day so I figured they would be fine. I didn't have any trouble with them at all. I took 2 older pairs and one new pair and they all were very comfortable. I wore mine with socks since it was chilly out, but during the summer I wear them without and have never had a problem with my feet sweating. I usually wear them with the straps flipped forward but I did filp them back when we rode Soarin. I didn't want to loose them!

I just got lime green ones today. Be very careful with putting them in the dryer though, as I stretched one strap way too far out.

I am thinking about the professional style.

From The Crocs website at http://www.crocs.com/products/footwear/sizing.jsp

Regarding sizing...

THE PERFECT CROCS™ FIT.

Crocs™ should not fit like other shoes:

They should fit very loosely.

The sides of your foot should not really touch the sides of the shoe.

Your toes should never make contact with the front of the shoe.

Once you have centered your foot on the foot-bed:

You should have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space in front of your toes, behind your heel and when you lift the strap you should be able to comfortably get your finger between the strap and heel.

In other words the fit should be “loose”.

I know that this goes against everything that you have ever been used to in a shoe, but these are the parameters that the shoe was designed to be worn under.

No Pressure points Ever!

To insure that the strap is not pulling your foot into the front of the shoe, rotate the strap forward and determine if your foot rests comfortably in the foot bed and there is room all around your foot. If so, you have the proper size but the strap is too short. To alleviate this issue, work your fingers around the strap and stretch it as you go around being careful not to put excessive pressure on the rivet hole. Stretch the strap until it is just short of the back edge of the shoe. The resin material has memory and will stay at the proper length after one or two of these types of adjustments.

No more superglue!! I just got mine today though the internet site, and the jewels are a 'new' one piece design. I think they still have the 'glue' ones in some stores. But, they are going to replace them with the 'new' one piece design. Oh.......go on get the lime green! :thumbsup2

The Nile (sandal) version has even more pronounced bumps...never did get used to wearing them, soles of feet always hurt.

I think the bumpy things are an accupressure thing. They sort of remind me of the slippers I've been given to wear at spas.

I've never had a problem with blisters. I even wear my crocs to do Tae Bo because my sneakers make my feet cramp up.

Thanks:) I just ordered my first pair.. can't wait.. I have real problem feet and they literally ache to the bone after half a day at disney... or anywhere.. along with my legs. I hope these are the answer. I"m tired of packing 6 pairs of shoes so my blisters don't keep getting hit.

I used to do the whole washing them in the sink with soap and a scrub brush for th ebottoms. But now I just throw them in the washer, on cold, with a little soap and bleach. They come out brand spankin' new and then I shine them up with armor all. Boy, that shines them up so nice! I do this about 1 a month, or more if they get dirty for some reason. :thumbsup2

Before I bought mine the other day, I said I was only going to use them at Disney (in hopes they will alleviate my feet hurting horribly by day 3 of vacation), but now I really like them - have worn them all around the house and wore them out shopping yesterday - think they may end up being my every day shoe and will probably need a new pair by the time we go on our trip in October!!

After I read the website regarding sizing and everyone's posts, I just stretched on the straps a few times and now my toes don't touch the front of the shoes at all.
