Yes - Another Croc Question - Jewels on Crocs??

OK - so I have looked at these ugly shoes :teeth: for the past year now and read practically every thread on Crocs. I usually end up with my feet killing me :( by day 3 of our yearly trip and hoped these would help. I finally took the plunge today and bought a pair of khaki Beach Crocs. :thumbsup2 I've been wearing them around the house and so far, really like them. I have really small feet though and had to buy size 4/5. So I have two questions:

1 - When I wear the shoe with the strap in the front, the shoe almost feels too big, but when I put the strap in the back, it pushes my toes all the way against the front of the shoe. Is this common and will the strap "stretch" as I wear them so that my foot isn't pushed so far in the front?

And

2 - Has anybody heard of jewels for the Crocs?? When I bought them, the cashier told me that they had ordered jewels and letters that would snap on the holes in the Crocs but hadn't gotten them in yet. These aren't on the Crocs website, so I assume they are a different brand. Does anyone have any jewels for their Crocs?? :confused3

I don't own any Crocs - but, I have the problems you describe with all clog style shoes. Either the shoes slide all over my feet and/or my toes squish up in the end. I've just given up trying anymore out.

The "jewels" for Crocs are called jibbitz. They have a website which lists all locations that sell them. I just bought some for a birthday party gift at a local garden center. They are pretty cute but cost $1.99 each so it can add up! (there are letters, flowers, animals, jewels, sports, bugs and more)
Can't help with your other problem. The only Crocs I have are the Athens flip-flops. Love em!!

Ok, I just bought some this weekend. I am having the same exact experience. I had to buy the 6-7. So, I too am wondering if they will stretch a little around the big toe if I wear them with the strap back.

Thanks!!! I'll have to check out that website. It just sounded kind of neat.

I bought them last weekend and had the same problem with my toe hitting the front. I put them in the dryer on medium for 2 minutes. They came out very soft and hot. I put them on, stood still and wiggled my toes around until they cooled down. They now fit perfect.

So throwing them in the dryer won't ruin them?? Did you put socks on when you did this?? I'll have to give it a try!!

The dryer will not hurt your Crocs at all. The website says they can be put into an autoclave (a piece of equipment that heat-sterilizes surgical instruments) for cleaning. I don't know how hot that gets, but I'll bet it's a lot hotter than your dryer! I did the same thing with mine and they fit really well. They are supposed to feel "too big." That's part of what makes them so comfortable, they're non-confining.

I have the Athens and Niles and love them. I tried on the clogs and could not find a great fit. Those jewels do not look that bad on the clogs as long as they are not in every hole.

I'm so glad that you started this thread! I was wondering how they'd feel walking around Disney, too. I really love mine and think they are super comfy. I have the same stlye as you (and also a pair of the closed aspens. Your feet sweat like crazy in the closed ones). However, spending the day running errands and walking around the park is a whole other story. Good luck.

As for the fit, they are supposed to be VERY roomy. I included the link from the crocs website about fit. When I read that "The sides of your foot should not really touch the sides of the shoe. Your toes should never make contact with the front of the shoe. " I thought "Huh?"

When I bought my crocs, the salewoman comfirmed this and and had been wearing crocs for years. I actually bought the next size up from my normal shoe size so yours may actually be too small.

YEAH! Thanks for the link, mtakac! I think my strap is just too tight. Gonna try the dryer and strap thing when I get home this evening. :cool1:

I threw mine into the dryer and now they are perfect. My toes don't touch the end and the strap stretched out a little. I love wearing them.

Those of you who are putting Crocs in the dryer, how long and at what setting?

I never use the strap because my toes get pushed to the front of the shoe, but I think I should probably use the strap at WDW for the extra security (walking faster than my usual pace - I don't want my shoes slipping of).

TIA!

OK - never mind, I didn't read carefully enough!

I was wondering how well they cleaned up? I was hoping on using them as garden clogs also. I hate to spend $90 for the kids and I to get a pair and really only use them for Disney. Since we all need new garden clogs i was hoping the crocs could be used for both, but this will only work if they clean well.

They clean up great! I just wash mine and DS's with soap and water and they look like new.

I have 6 pairs  of beach crocks (and a pair of Niles) and a few of them had tighter straps when I got them that pushed my toes to the front. I just pulled them with my fingers and wore them a few times and they stretched enough not to be a problem.

pdarrah

I also saw on the Crocs website that they sell "butter" to return the original shine and color to Crocs. I thought I might buy some to put back for later when mine get really dingy.

My toes also hit, so I just stretched out the strap a bit...now it's no problem. And I just ordered $60 worth of those Jibbitz for my dd's Crocs. She writes all over them, so I'm hoping this will encourage her to stop writing. And they are very cute to boot!!!

Thanks so much for this section of the website! Very helpful!!

I keep thinking about getting them too. I just went to crocs.com and found the Cayman for only $29.99, for both adults and kids. I thought they were way more expensive!!! I am definitely going to order some, once I decide on the color!

Thanks also for the pics of the jewels, they are so cute! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
