Yellow Tags Question!!!

OK, we just got our Yellow Tags in the mail!!!! My question is: It says on the back to just remove that small section of the backing and then to stick it to the other side evenly. So we don't remove ALL of the backing? Not sure why. Anyone know?

Also, has anyone ever had the Disney luggage tags stolen from their suitcase? I was going to use them, but DH said not to cause someone will take them. He thinks they're cool. He's right, they are, and I don't want someone to take them. Should we actually use them?

Yep, just that little square. I just checked mine, and that's correct. It should form a loop, rather than be completely stuck together. It should be able to move freely on the luggage handle.

Do you know about the luggage tags? Should we use them, or keep them? They are pretty cool holographic ones and we don't want someone to take them. Darn baggage handlers!!!

OK, you're asking about the hard plastic holographic WDTC luggage tags and not the yellow paper DME tags, right?

Well, I've seen and heard of a lot of WEIRD things in my life, so nothing's impossible, but I can't imagine a baggage handler bothering to remove a luggage tag from the outside of your suitcase ...

... especially because there's so many good things to steal from the INSIDE.

If he wants to save 'em, save 'em. That way they won't get scuffed up or anything. I just can't picture them getting stolen.

I am confused but - if they are your ME - Magical Express yellow luggage tags and you want your luggage delivered to your room via ME then you need to put them on the bags to be delivered. However, IIRC they were not "cool" or holographic so you probably have some type of promo tag that comes with a package.

If so then its totally up to you when and where you want to use them. While I have had some very cool luggage tags and they have never been stolen you may well choose to use them for something else. My dd took my cool mickey luggage tag for her clarinet case. We use pretty generic luggage tags for our checked bags, perhaps put the cool ones on the carry on luggage?

Again - ME tags have to go on the luggage you want delivered to your room. Promotional tags are yours to do with what you please.

I know the luggage tags you're talking about! We got them last year when we booked a package through WDTC and we still have the ones they gave us in 2001 (The tags from 2001 are cool too, but not holographic). So far, NONE of them have gotten removed from our luggage, and we've flown and traveled many times. I have to admit that I thought twice about using them when I first got them, but I think it's "safe" to use them, and unless you have some other use for them, I think it'd be a waste to just put them in a drawer somewhere.

My holographic ones have been on my bags for years. They never come off. Sure, my dh may feel silly flying on business with his WDW luggage tags, but he doesn't care!!! So, yes, mine stay on the bag. Then, each time I use DME, I put the yellow ones on also. But, they come off as soon as the bags get to our room. I don't want any confusion when we're flying home!!!
