Day 3 (Part 2) - Sunday, November 16, 2003

CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Yecats - Me, myself and I.
Me is Single, 33 (however, other two personalities - myself is about 10 years old and an advid SM freak and the I personality may be about 60 years especially after getting off of the ToT).

Also on board is my new Canon ZR65 Digital Videocamera nicknamed: Handycam, as it was always in my hand.

PLAN FOR THE DAY:
1. Magic Kingdom (Part 1)
2. Epcot
3. Dinner at Le Cellier
4. Walk over to Boardwalk (Part 3)
5. DTD and last boat to PORS (Part 3)

Oh boy, I didn't mean to sleep nearly 2 1/2 hours but I just crashed when I went back to the room. Well I got up and fixed myself and changed into some pants as the nights have been cooling down in the 50's. Took an aspirin for the throbbing muscles and decided that it should be safe to wait for an Epcot bus at the South Depot as they seem to stop there every 10 minutes. So it was 5:40 when I headed out to the South bus stop. When I got there I was the only one tand it had gotten dark. I kept hearing the bushes behind me rustling which was a bit un-nerving. I knew that it was squirrels and rabbits and would occasionally see one but it was still un-nerving. Finally (10 mins later) the Epcot bus came and only had 6 people on it. I see that a big crowd is headed to Epcot - all 6 of us, woohoo.

Arrived at Epcot around 6:05. Okay, I always have to ride Spaceship Earth especially with the possiblity that it may close in the next year. Handycam ready to film - good tape to have and remember in the future. As I am getting out, there is a mom with yet another sick kid who has decided to vomit. Yippee, second one seen today. Okay not yet ready to try Mission Space as I might feel as the kid did a minute ago, so let me TEST TRACK myself to death as dinner isn't until 7:05 anyway. I was able to ride it 3 times in a row before leaving for Le Cellier.

TIP:
I encourage everyone to try this ride at least once. If you can ride in a vehicle, you can ride this ride.

Decided to stop in the restroom as my hair needed to be combed. Gee I only look like Don King after riding this 3 times. Are you having that Ali McBeal moment of me looking in the mirror to find myself with Don King hair? Okay now I look relatively normal so I can go to Le Cellier.

Le Cellier - IMHO is one of the best restaurants Disney has. I love to eat here. I walk up right at 7:00 p.m. and am standing in line behind 14 people (2 seperate groups) trying to get in Le Cellier without PS ressie. There are several other groups of people standing around waiting for their beepers to go off.

TIP:
If you want to eat dinner at Le Cellier - MAKE A PRIORITY SEATING RESERVATION.

These two large groups of people were arguing with the Maitre'D as he had no tables available for them. They argued with him for nearly 10 minutes. Finally they move off to the side where they are still griping that they can't get in. I move up to talk to the Maitre'D who immediately began to say that they were booked up for the night. Then I informed him that I had a PS reservation so he handed me a beeper, gave instructions and stated that there would be a 15 minute wait. Well he was deadon the time as I waited exactly 15 minutes watching the waterfall and talking to my family at home. Beeper goes off and informed family that I had to go eat.

I walked in and was seated immediately at the table behind the door where the waiters bring out the food. The restaurant was full with a huge table in the middle that had a group of about 14 people eating. I was told my server would be hear shortly and was handed the menu. 5 mins, 10 minutes goes by and no one stops. The Seating hostess passed me by, I stopped her and stated that I had not been seen. 2 minutes later, my waitress is here and appologizing. Her name is Elaine and she is the best waitress in the world. Today was the worst day she had in a while as she had the large table of 14 hungry people in the middle of the room. They were really running poor Elaine around. She immediately took my order and was out with plenty of pretzel and sourdough breadsticks, butter and ice tea. 5 minutes later out came my ceasar salad (just right and so very good). 10 minutes later here came my New York Stripe Steak and Yukon potatoes. Ooh it was mouth watering and so very tasty. Elaine instructed me to leave some room for dessert as it was on her. Okay, no pushing necessary. I ordered the maple creme brulee which is to die for. The bill came and totaled around $33 (and no dessert was charged). Elaine managed to stop by several time to keep me company and talk about Florida and Canada. Thank you Elaine, your the best.

Well I left Le Cellier around 8:30 and walked around Canada. Decided to stay in this area and watch Illuminations. I was standing up and talking to several women around me from various areas of the country. Illuminations was running a bit late and started at about 9:07 a.m. Handycam got the entire show on tape - what a great viewing I'll have anytime I want it.

RECAP:

Nap back at PORS mid day - :D
Waiting at South Depot at night by myself -
Spaceship Earth - :)

Le Cellier - ;)
Elaine and great service for dinner - :wave2:
Illuminations - :earseek:

Wonderful trip report ~ Thanx for sharing.

A fun evening and dinner at one of my favorite places - thanks for posting!

I had already planned on eating at Le Cellier on my next trip. Thanks for reinforcing those plans. I think wait staff really appreciate a nice, friendly diner. So often, people are crabby and nasty because they are so hungry. I had a great server at the Brown Derby. Her name was Sheila from Chicago and she reminded me of your Elaine.
