Day 4 (part 1) - Sunday, November 14, 2004:

CAST OF CHARACTERS:
MOM - 57 year old somewhat disney nut.
ME - 34 year old DISNEY NUT who has had to wait one full year for her Disney fix.

TODAY'S AGENDA:
1. Magic Kingdom
2. Lunch at Beaches and Creams and break in room
3. Magic Kingdom with dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern

7:00 a.m. - ringy, ding dong - Mom the phone is for you. Yep its swell old Mickey on the phone irratating mom with his cheery wake up call. Yep she was ready to shoot the mouse, how dare he be happy in the morning. This was hopefully the last day that we would wake up early like this but I knew by day 3 of hearing Mickey everymorning that would've had enough and she did.

We both woke up stiff today even though we slept well. All that standing did us in from the tour the day before. We both had to take an aspirin but began our day from there. After eating breakfast in our room and getting dressed we were off. We walked to the BW bus stop and waited with about 20 others for the MK bus. Afterwards we headed over to the Swan and Dolphin and filled up the bus again then over to the MK. We arrived about 8:40 and in the Kingdom we went. We headed directly for Fantasyland. For some reason mom has never road a number of the kiddierides and she was determined to see them. So we got a fastpass for PPF and then waited 15 minutes for Winnie the Pooh. Mom was unimpressed with WTP. This would be her first time seeing Philharmagic (this was at least my 5th time) and she loved it, said it was a true Disney film and was lots of fun to watch. Then fastpass time was in so we rode PPF, mom said it was okay (I personally like flying over London). At this point, Mickey's Toon Town had been open a few minutes so we managed to fit in one ride on Goofy's Barnstormer (mom still can't believe I dragged her but on the kiddie rides).

We then walked into Tomorrowland where I rode Space Mtn once while mom rode TTA. When I came off we then went to ride Buzz LY, mom of course was a space cadet and I almost made it out of planetary pilot but will have a new score to overcome next ride. Afterwards we hit moms favorite ride, Carousel of Progress. Mom was very happy to see it as a number of times we came inthe past 8 to 9 years it was closed as we usually go in December. Then we both hit TTA for a ride quick ride around. We decided to cross to Adventureland where we got to witness the spitting camel hit somebody in the head (they got the shock of their lives). We had a short wait to ride PoC but those darn pirates haven't changed. At this point it was 11:30 (wow how the morning flew by). It was time for our afternoon break so we headed off to catch the bus to the BC/YC for lunch.

We arrived at BC/YC at 11:50 and headed directly for Beaches and Creams. As we passed by the pool a large section was blocked off (you could see over the wall) and the pool was emptied and being cleaned. We checked in with the hostess at B&C and she lead us to a table (all 3 booths were already filled with people) but we were the only ones at a table. Believe it or not I had never eaten here so this was a first.

Now I had read up on B&C and knew how the Q&C vouchers worked. Mom just wanted a regular hamburger (not the double one) with fries and she knew that dessert comes with the deal. I also only wanted a single hamburger and asked for onion rings instead of the fries. 10 minutes later we had our really big hamburgers (mine with at least 10 nice sized onion rings). They were delicious. We then ordered dessert. Mom wanted a strawberry shortcake and ordered the No Way Hose ice cream. OMG - OMG - Did I say OMG!!!! I didn't realize how huge these desserts were. The No Way Hose was served in a huge Whiskey Glass - lets just say that half a gallon of milk could've been poured in that glass (the rest. was filled at this point with everyone oohing and awing as the desserts were served). It was filled with at least 5 huge scoops of vanilla icecream covered with a ton of chocolate syrup, hot caramel, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles and delicious peanut butter chips. Mom's strawberry shortcake was huge as well with plenty of strawberries and whipped cream. We both tried to make a dent and to a degree managed to achieve that goal but were we full when we left. I never saw the bill here as our waitress just took the two Q&C vouchers and stated that all was even. I know that the humburgers were about $8 or $9 each, $3.99 for onion rings, No Way Hose was $8 and StrawbShtcake was $6 so I figured that we at least saved about $14 or $15 using those 2 vouchers. As our waitress was very nice and kept our drinks filled I left an additional $2.50 as a tip.

BEST TIP for Beaches and Creams - Arrive just before noon (it gets crowded around 12:20) and get a few Q&C vouchers for your meal.

At this point we were able to roll each other out of B&C and into the bathroom down the way singing the how blouted I feel right now song. We decided to take the Friendship boat back across the lake to BW for a rest, we sincerely prayed that we wouldn't sink the boat. 5 minutes later we rolled our sorry selves onto the boat (boy what floatation that ship had with our sorry bloated selves on it) and across the lake we landed. The boat thanked us for getting off of it but the plank groaned while we were heading up.

By the time I got back to the room my stomach realized how much whipped cream I really had so thank you lord that I remembered to take the Pepcid AC. As mom and I were preparing for a nap, those rain clouds decided to rain on Disney so we went to sleep to the sound of the rain outside. We both woke up around 3ish and the rain was just stopping. Gee we lucked out the rain started when we returned and stopped when we were leaving (reality doesn't exist here does it).

RECAP:
Morning Mickey wakeup call - pirate:
Magic Kingdom -:Pinkbounc
Beaches and Creams -::yes::
No Way Hose dessert - :earseek:
Being bloated with stomach ache - :(
Just missing the only rain of the whole trip - :smooth:
Taking a mid day nap - :teeth:

Well I'm still dreaming about that dessert and really wish I had one here with me know. Oh well next report we're heading back to MK.

sounds like a wondeful day and even a nap sounds great at this time..........thanks for your report and review of beaches and cream......

Beaches and creams will now be a must do for every future trip. I really wish that I could purchase those peanut butter chips to add on my ice cream at home (I really miss this dessert).

I've never been to B & C, so I don't know what peanut butter chips they use.

However, you can get pb chips on the baking aisle, right next to the choc. chips. I believe Reeses' even has a chip labelled for them.

Hi Cajunmommy, Now I am going to have to look for them the next time I am in the store (I don't ever recall seeing them but then again I don't cook very much. I see that your in the BR area and it is always great to me another Disneyana from Louisiana. Be sure to try Beaches and Creams the next time your there (you won't be sorry just stuffed).
