If you're interested in saving money, you might want to think about using cloth diapers instead.

I was wondering when someone was going to mention using cloth! I used cloth on both my kids & saved a TON of money - plus I sold the diapers after the kids outgrew them - and on some of them I *made* money, LOL! Can't do that with disposables. Plus it keeps the poop out of the landfills, and WAHM (work at home mom) companies make such cute diapers in all shapes and sizes - some you stuff (pocket diapers), some are diaper/cover combos, even tie-dye prefolds.
If you want to be super-frugal, use prefolds - and NOT the stuff (like Gerber) you get at
Walmart. Those are junk. You have to order them online - Chinese prefolds, they are thick and really nice. I used prefolds with a fleece-lined hemp doubler and a simple cover (Motherease, Bummi, Proraps -they even sell "second quality" ones that are nice). Very simple and inexpensive. The cloth diaper community is very large and many many mamas buy and sell new and used cloth diapers.
For wipes, I made my own out of old baby blankets, and I made them out of Bounty towels - cut roll in half and and to mixture of water, baby shampoo and baby oil - there are recipes online.
Super easy on your wallet and better for the environment.
