Hi everyone,

I am likely to ask a million questions over the next few months but there's a good reason why.

My DD is graduating from year 6 in Dec. (that's the end of the Australian school year). So, what should two very proud parents do? Why, send her to DL of course!

I really want this to be a special DL trip for her. She's been there twice before...once for her 2nd birthday and then again for DL's 50th.

I have heard about special baskets that can be ordered for occations and delivered to your hotel room. Anyone have any ideas what might be in a graduation one?

Also, I know about the 'it's my birthday' buttons...but do they have 'I just graduated' ones too?

Thanks for any help.

Regards,
Aussie Caribou

Hi Aussie Caribou! Oooh...so lucky to be your daughter ;) Anyway, I've never ordered the gift baskets but here is a thread that talks about it: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2477112&highlight=gift+baskets

To answer your question about the buttons, I don't remember seeing a specific one for graduations but I know they have the generic "I'm celebrating" buttons for all the special occasions that are not covered by the ones they have :goodvibes

:welcome:

Used to live in Melbourne so always happy to see other Aussies. :goodvibes

I did the exact same thing for my DD after year 6. It was just the right age for her first trip. Now we are about to leave to do her 13th birthday and recovery trip. :cool1:

I have not done the baskets but think they should have something great you can put together. i know the trying to ring long distance is a pain but I highly recommend calling the vacation planning. If you can't find the number let me know. They are great and can probably help you come up with something.

One thing I am doing this trip because we are staying onsite is pre-ordering Disney dollars to be waiting for her. Nice surprise she will have when we check in. Also doing the balloons. No matter which way you go though I think just the trip itself will be an amazing gift for her.

Another suggestion might be a special meal. For my DD i am doing lunch at Blue Bayou and the Fantasmic dessert. Of course it is not the most budget friendly but they are nice touches.

Hope the planning goes well and you have a great trip. Keep us posted. We love living vicariously through others. :surfweb:

...Anyone have any ideas what might be in a graduation one?...

Yes. It's mostly blue. It says, "Just Graduated." She can get one at City Hall.

Congrats to your daughter - and what a great gift!

P.S. Welcome to the DISBoards!

Thank you so much everyone.

I am so excited. I can't wait to get to Disney...I sure hope I can keep from telling my dd!

And thanks for welcoming me too. I am really liking the community.

Regards,
Aussie Caribou
