Actually, on the DB, someone would have truly jumped his butt! And there would have been debate as to the validity! And SotM would have been right in there defending his poition, not putting people down for not having a sense of humor! IMO

We all have a right to our opinions, but I guess there are just some of us (or possibly a lot of us) on the CB who cannot find humor in somebody mocking others who are requesting prayers and support from others.

Maybe you could explain the humor in that to us.

Caity I agree, what one person sees as humor is what another person sees as nastiness or sarcasm, but you can also tell when the humor is at other people's expense. I guess you have to determine for yourself where it crosses the line from humor to nastiness. For me, that other thread crossed the line.

I can understand this thread. I can understand expressing an opinion, if someone doesn't like something then they might want to complain about it. That happens here ALL the time. It's someone's opinion. Just like the thousands of other opinions expressed on the CB everyday.

well hey like i said, i have no idea who exactly som was "mocking." but there have occasionally been prayer/pd requests here that were not jokes that were very similar to what som posted. things that were a little silly to be asking for prayers for, imho. so, i viewed som's post more as satire rather than something meant to hurt feelings, but to each his own, and like i said, i really don't know his intent.

i hope *i* haven't offended anyone or hurt anyone's feelings with my posts on this topic. just trying to look at things from a different angle. i remember being a senior in high school too.

Making fun at other people is childish regardless to how old you are. He does at least at the excuse that he is a child.

I'm not offended by anyone's opinions on this thread at all. At first I was totally confused, the original post didn't make sense to me, LOL!, that's why I put up the , but I was highly offended by the other one.

But I'll disagree with you about one thing -- I see SoM's age as a postive thing. I've seen him stand up to people who have critisized his age. He's intelligent, bright and articulate. To me he has proven himself to be able to handle himself as the adult he is. So the age thing doesn't cut it with me. If he were fourteen, fifteen, super silly fluffy, well then maybe.

I have to put a smilie at the end of my posts, what can I say.

I must be different. I didn't see it as nasty or as an attempt at humor. What I saw was an (out of line) attempt to be controlling. But hey, what do I know... I just like to be different.

Here's a thought....most of the threads looking for pd and prayers say so....just pass them by. I try to do that on the debate threads. Keeps my b/p down that way.
