We just recently got ressies for a quick 5 night trip 7/31 to SSR! We really weren't planning on a summer trip (gotta love those AP's!). It will be our first stay at this resort, and we would love some tips and advise! Do they have any special members only events or activities? Also is Artist Palette only open for bkfst. and lunch? Can we use our DDE card there? Is there a good location to request? Is there a walking path to DD? Please tell us all we need to Know??? :Pinkbounc Thanks!

You can get a member discount at Artist's Palette. SSR is a beautiful resort. You'll have a great time.

Artist Palette is open into the evening. We were there at 9pm one evening and they were still open. If you are interested in walking to DTD - Congress Park rooms are the closest. There is a sidewalk that goes along the water that will take you to DTD. It takes about 10 minutes from the Congress Park buildings. If you are interested in being close to the main pool you would want to stay at The Springs. I have stayed at 3 different buildings in the Congress Park area. Two of the times had a view of DTD. Have a great time! :cheer2:

According to allear's list, both the Artist Pallete and the Turf Club accept the DDE discount. I have not used either there, but our first trip home to SSR isn't until Christmas.

Do report back and let us know how things go. BTW - in case you have missed it - they DO have bell services to help you with your things! This seems to be a big one most people miss and it is probably time that some of us address it if we are at the resort and don't get offered assistance upon check in.

Also, there are lots of activities and I am sure like the other resorts, you will be given info upon check in. The kids areas look fantastic. The day we toured (after buying in sight unseen lol) there were children and a couple of CMs playing in the courtyard area with a parachutte and balls like we did when we were kids at school :) My boys wanted to join in immediately. Also, the main pool is zero entry and has some great play areas for kids as well. If you are taking a kidless trip, try the quiet pool over by Congress Park area. It my understanding at night, its incredible to sit in the hot tub and watch the lights at DTD.

Have fun!

You can use the DDE for lunch and dinner. We did in May.Congress Park puts you in the middle of DTD and the main pool.5to 7 min.walk either way.And yes the view from the quiet pool is great at night.Ok,the view from the quiet pool is great anytime of the day as long as we are there hanging out and relaxing :goodvibes But at night its the best.
