I am a pre-k teacher and here in NJ you now have to have what is called a P-3 license to teach. I have been teaching without one (which was OK until the new legislation) for 6 years. I have my BA in Psychology and in order to get certified I had to go back to school. So I did a year of post-graduate work and received my P-3 certificate from the University. Then I had to do a year of mentoring (and my mentor it turned out had less teaching experience than me but was fully licensed). But finally after a tough two years I am officially done!!! I got my standard certificate from the state yesturday. I'm done, I'm done, I'm done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm just so excited I wanted to share.
