YEAH for AAA!!

I am so glad I took the time to call! I had booked online with a rate (including tax) of $166.14. I called a couple of weeks ago, and the CM told me that there were no AAA discounts available, and that my rate was lower than the AAA rate anyway.

I called today, and spoke with Pebbles. (I love these names!) Pebbles couldn't find my reservation, so of course I was panicking. She called Guest Services, and they were able to see it. Whew! So, she looks for the AAA rate and availability, and my rate for 6 nights dropped from $996.84 to $843.00!

Maybe there were no AAA rates available a few weeks ago. Maybe she had trouble finding my reservation also, so she just said whatever to get rid of me. Or maybe she just didn't want the hassle. All I know is I got POR for $123 a night, thanks to Pebbles.

Wow me too! I had been calling once a month for seven months and after I read this post I called again and finally got a AAA discount. Saved $280, better than nothing.

I had also been trying to get AAA rate at Wilderness Lodge for our December trip. When I called several weeks ago, they said they did not have any AAA for WL for my dates. Well after a hunch to call and check last night, I was able to get WL with AAA rate for 7 nights $1,130.56. At first we were just going to stay at the Pop, but I thought why not splurge (again ) and stay at the WL.

We are just going to the AKL for one night, but wanted to have the Savanah view. There were no AAA rate avail. So we ended up booking a standard view at a full rate for March 2o. I have been calling everyday,to check and see if any rooms came avail, and today we got it, only 42.00 more for the Savanah! YEAH!!! So keep calling, you never know when a AAA rate will open up!
