My BFF and I are going to WDW for my birthday in October. We were looking for ways to add to our fund and I remembered the $100 gift card incentive for opening a new Disney Visa account. Since I already have one, I told her about it, just to see if she was interested.
I went to the link on the member website and she had me fill out her information for her. When I read the "disclaimers" and such, I told her that it may take 2-4 weeks to get the card and then another 8-10 weeks to get the gift card. At the time, we were only about 9 weeks away from our vacation so we figured that she wouldn't get it. She said, "Well, let's try it anyways....I can always keep it and use it later."
Well, 3 DAYS later, her Visa arrived! She used it to fill up her gas tank. Ten DAYS after her purchase, her $100 gift card arrived!
I was very impressed with how fast the process was. I was wondering, though....Can my DH apply for one in his name even though he is a cardholder on my account? If so, can I be a cardholder on his account? Would it still qualify for the gift card? I wouldn't mind opening another one, just in case we decide to take advantage of the 0% vacation financing. A separate account just for that would be much easier to keep track of.
One more question...
When I went through the application for my friend, it asked about having a bankruptcy on your record. DH had a Ch 13 that was fully paid off back in 2001. Would this still be considered "on the record" since it was discharged more than seven years ago? I think the answer is "no", but I do not want to inadvertantly lie on the application.
