SSB- I think you need my doctor. He is far from stingy. Gave me about 2 months worth of my anti-inflamatories free, and gave me 90 painkilers to take when the pain gets so bad I can't stand it or it wakes me up. He said that there was no reason I should have to pay any more co-pays or deductibles than I have to. I really love this doc- actually takes patients finances/insurance coverage into account.
Hope everyone is having a god night and sleeping well. It seems I'll be up awhile b/c I can't take anything that has a sedative affect before my nuerology appointment this morning. 'Oh well, I know I'll sleep great later (gotta love Ambiens!- only thing that really seems to help me get any quality sleep through all this.)
Talk to ya'll later.

Good morning.........we "only" ended up with 8-10 inches here...no school but DH and I are both off to work :(

Shellie, send some of those meds down to my 2 brothers in Mass who both have bad backs...one of them takes care of snow removal for my Dad as well as 3 elderly neighbors...and his snowblower is broken....his back is next I fear!! (They got 2 FEET or more!!!)

My new wheels are staying in the garage !

have a good day everyone!

We had 15" as of last night....this morning I haven't really looked out. Jerry and Mike are out snowblowing. They have so much snow removal to do as we live on a corner. They also do the 2 elderly neighbors houses and driveways next door. They'll be half the day at it.

My sister and BIL could use some of those meds Shellie. My BIL also has very bad back and couldn't move this morning so my sister did all the shoveling and now she sounds as though she is dying from shoulder pain....so pass the meds . My sister is actually crying and says my BIL needs a doctor this morning but they can't get out.
SO I guess Jerry, Mike and Justin will have to head there next.

Everyone try to have a good day

good morning everyone!!! hope everyone is staying warm/dry...

we got about 8 inches of snow over the weekend. they were predicting nasty nasty nasty ice storms for valentine's day, but it missed us. but the snow didn't miss us. :( oh well...we've had some pretty mild winters the past few years here. i guess we were due for a doozy.

matthew and i couldn't stand being cooped up any longer yesterday in that apartment. we were under a snow emergency, but we braved the roads anyway and went to see the movie chicago. i LOVED it...has anyone else seen it? i thought it was wonderful...perfectly cast...and i was impressed by the singing voices of catherine zeta-jones, renee zellweger, and richard gere. the choreography was amazing...i would highly recommend this movie to anyone!!

ann, i thought about you yesterday...as i was watching the news...and watching how the east coast was getting pounded by all the snow...i thought of you driving your new convertible wearing a ski mask and ski goggles...hehehe

and then i thought of the other cheerleaders in the snowy areas. i hope everyone's unburied now...

i think the snow was all piled up on our roof last night blocking our chimny flue thingy. we lit a log in the fireplace, but it got pretty smoky in the apartment...the flue was open...we eventually had to extinguish the log and then scrapped the ashes out and took them outside cuz the smell was so bad. then i got paranoid and started worrying about carbon monoxide poisoning. i guess the fact that everyone (me, matthew, and the cat) woke up this morning was a good sign...:)

well, since i was a slcaker yesterday here at work..i have a few things to do. i was just informed that some of our repeat students actually missed me yesterday! :bounce: i guess that the GM was filling in for me and didn't set up breakfast the same way or keep up on the coffee the same way or the afternoon cookies...it's nice to be appreciated...

have a good day!!

oh...and PD coming your way SSB for the back troubles...

YIKES!! i just looked out at my play yard. With the walks and driveway shoveled you can hardly see the 3' 8" picket fence around the yard...its buried.
WOW!! what a mess around here

today....I am thank ful for the men in my life ;)

had.....they said that is what is keeping the snow down in Maine.....can you see I am a happy camper.....just ordered some baby clothes for our new grandson.....he is going to look so cute.....can hardly wait....hope all of you are warm and safe inside........now I looked at the calendar and it is 39 days to go.......I love disney...can hardly wait......while I was at walmart buying florida stuff......my husband was talking to my nieces husband who is the manager ....and they want info on disney......they have triplets and want to go .....so hubby was glad to get him all excited about it.......

here it is 21 degrees and it sure beats zero...feels like a heat wave
pumba what if it snows on the day you fly out and your plane gets canceled  with the snow we've been getting...the odds are good :p

and when you get beack...you will keep coming back to this thread, right, so I can do my countdown for you ;) :p :teeth:

BITE YOUR TONGUE.......... i don't care what happens....I will sit in the airport and wait....I kid you not.......
Can I still visit when we come home?????

SSB my hubby had/has this problem.....they misdiagnosed him the first time and by the time he went to the neurologist and then referred him to an orthopedic surgeon it was to late......he takes meds when it is bad.....rests when it is bad.....and then yells when it is really bad.....he spent 8 weeks on the couch....cause he could not get into our water bed at the time.....this is the only thing that gets him out of the bed now....warm warm water bed.....hope you feel better

OUCH!!
I bit my tongue ;)

Of course you can come back here after your trip :teeth:
You always sound so bubbly and funny...its nice having you around ;)

What is it that your Dh has pumba?? My BIL has degenerative arthritis...he is 51. He went down on the floor this morning and couldn't get up.....he takes meds but he is a carpenter and nearing the point of disability.

GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR
DD left her backpack in her friend's car yesterday afternoon (long story, DH picked her up in the truck and she "forgot" to grab her backpack) so therefore she does not have any of the books/papers,etc to do the homework due tomorrow (this is somehow cause to snap at me?) ......she is lying on the couch still in pj's talking to the BF.......the dishwasher needs to be emptied and her room ALWAYS needs to be cleaned, but she is snapping at me when I ask why doesn't she do something productive for at least an hour of her "snow day"
Bck to work I go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

{{{HUGS}}} Ann!!
I do know the feeling  ...its a teen thing !!

its going to rain here on Saturday....
I know what that is...I remember from long long ago.... :o
its when water falls from the sky......water that isn't frozen and white :)

i just heard that they are calling for more snow here this weekend!!! ACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when will it all end?

good evening ladies...and gentlemen (though we don't see much of Mr Milo and ejigs at all....SSB is excused by his doctor ;) )

Now Sue and BT are hopefully getting matters under control on the home front so that they can POST MORE in the future ;)

Teri????????? hope you are doing ok!!

Brandie...we are due for rain or sleet or "icy mix" this weekend. MAKE IT GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And to quote our dear friend Gail: Christine and SSB: shaddup!!! ;)

Did you all see that Donna (PandyPaws) is back at the Dolphin AGAIN?!?!!? :teeth:

Arrgghhh! So much SNOW out there - we got over 2 feet, and only this evening have they bothered to plow our street...AFTER the whole driveway was shoveled, of course!!

Kids are off again tomorrow - they've announced it ahead of time, but I really can't take being stuck at home anymore - so it's off to work for me.

SSB - hope you get some "good stuff" for your back. I was having some back pain a few days ago - kept popping Alleve, and it only helped for a while. Thankfully, it's kind of just aching these days.

Shell - how's all your meds and tests coming along?? Hang in there, girl.

Hope everyone is getting dug out from the snow! We barely got any snow but had a pretty bad icestorm this week that coupled with sub-freezing temps has made alot of secondary and side streets (not to mention most parking lots) terrible.
Saw nuerologist yesterday and was given yet another diagnosis and this one I can't even pronounce, much less spell. Told me to continue w/ the Nuerontin that I've been on, the elavil that my primary doc started me on Friday plus gave me a prescription for Baflecan to take at night. He promised I would get some decent sleep tonight (well, my night) so I took them after I picked Kevin up at 5am and here I sit, typing away.
It looks like I'll probably have to rethink my plans for June. Thanks to said medical problems, I am now w/out a job so finding money in the budget for even a solo trip just got alot trickier. That is the bad news. The good news is that when I called the unemployment office they gave me a couple of other numbers to call for benfits I may be eligible for. Most are basic stuff like medical assistance (which I won't need so far thanks to COBRA). However one was to get help w/ training or go back to school so I can get a new, better job that would not recquire the heavy and/or overhead lifting I'm not aloud to do.
I've been wanting to go back to school but could not figure out how to afford it so hopefully, this will work out!!!
O.K., I'm gona go try to lay down and get some rest. Ya'll have a great day and stay warm!

One more thing, a friend sent me this in my email and I really liked it and wanted to share it w/ ya'll. A couple of these verses really stood out to me for just how true they are.
I've learned
that you cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.

I've learned-
that no matter how much I care,
some people just don't care back.

I've learned-
that it takes years to build up trust,
and only seconds to destroy it.
I've learned- that it's not what you have in your life
but who you have in your life that counts.

I've learned-
that you can get by on charm for about
fifteen minutes.
After that, you'd better know something.

I've learned-
that you shouldn't compare
yourself to the best others can do.

I've learned-
that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I've learned-
that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I've learned-
that you should always leave loved ones
with loving words. It may be the last
time you see them.

I've learned-
that you can keep going
long after you can't.

I've learned-
that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I've learned-
that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.

I've learned-
that regardless of how hot and steamy
a relationship is at first, the passion fades
and there had better be something else to take
its place.

I've learned-
that heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I've learned-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I've learned-
that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.

I've learned-
that sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down
will be the ones to help you get back up.

I've learned-
that sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me
the right to be cruel.

I've learned-
that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I've learned-
that just because someone doesn't love
you the way you want them to doesn't
mean they don't love you with all they have.

I've learned-
that maturity has more to do with
what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.

I've learned-
that you should never tell a child
their dreams are unlikely or outlandish.
Few things are more humiliating, and what
a tragedy it would be if they believed it.

I've learned-
that your family won't always be there for you.
It may seem funny, but people you aren't
related to can take care of you and love you
and teach you to trust people again. Families
aren't biological.

I've learned-
that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned-
that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes you are to learn to forgive yourself.

I've learned-
that no matter how bad your heart is broken
the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I've learned-
that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who we
become.

I've learned-
that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I've learned-
that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I've learned-
that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a
secret. It could change your life forever.

I've learned-
that two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.

I've learned-
that no matter how you try to protect your
children, they will eventually get hurt and
you will hurt in the process.

I've learned-
that your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I've learned-
that even when you think you have no more
to give, when a friend cries out to you,
you will find the strength to help.

I've learned-
that credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I've learned-
that the people you care about most in life
are taken from you too soon.

I've learned-
that it's hard to determine where to draw
the line between being nice and not hurting
people's feelings and standing up for what you believe.

good luck with all of that shellie! :) i work for a computer training center and we see folks like you come in all the time...

good morning my fellow cheerleaders!

it's drizzley outside now. i am so DONE with winter. truth be told, i was done with it january 1! i wish it would stop!!! good news is that we're supposed to reach a high of 48 this week! bad news is that it will be right back down to frigid by the end of the weekend. who's all for moving to florida? at least maybe then we could get good use out of ann and sue's convertibles. ;)

i made matthew go and buy me the chicago soundtrack. i am hooked! i would now love to go and see it on the stage. too bad the show's not touring right now...:(

have a good day everyone!!

good luck job hunting Shellie

i am so DONE with winter
me too!!

if you like musicals...i think you'll like it! i'm hooked...would love to see it on broadway! i was totally blown away by the singing voices of everyone...catherine zeta jones has an amazing voice. renee zellweger has a pretty good voice too. richard gere surprised me! i wasn't expecting him to have a singing voice...very pleasant surprise!! i've gone onto the imdb website and looked up bios on everyone from the movie. i never realized that he was so musically inclined i guess! let me know if you see it and how you liked it!!

matthew was telling me this morning that he's amazed by the songs that i'm drawn too...goodbye earl, cell block tango, pretty much drawn to songs when the women murder their men! i guess i never saw the correlation until now...i told him that i just liked the way the songs sounded...but he'd better watch out! ;)
