Yc?

I think, if I had the money, I'd stay there. With unlimited funds, it would be my first choice due to it's theming and proximity to Epcot.

Kungaloosh!

I stayed there last summer and loved it! I wish I could afford to stay there every trip.

I liked it, but it is not one of my favorites. We stayed there at Christmas time a few years back. For the location, I think I'd pick the Boardwalk or the Beach club first due to theming. The Boardwalk is really beautiful, but the Beach club has that great Cape Cod theme which reminds me of our great trip to Massachusetts. Overall, I miss the high ceilings that the GF or AKL has, and think the architecture is best at those. The decor is beautiful, but doesn't have as much personal appeal as many of the other deluxes. My favorites in order would be GF, AKL, BWI, BC, WL, Swan/ Dolphin, POLY, YC, CR.

I heard the YC was more upscale and classy than the BC. People tell me that the YC is a lot more quiet...is this true?

Yacht Club Guy - loved the Yacht Club. Only reason we are not staying there this time is because it is booked!!! It is my favorite of the Epcot resorts - besides the Swan ; )

We stayed there a few years ago, and were disappointed. We've stayed at every deluxe resort, and this one was towards the bottom of the list. We weren't exactly knocked over by the CM's who just seemed to not really care one way or the other. There was no Disney Magic there for us.

The location was nice, but we prefer the BW and BC.

Of course everyone has their own taste, which is quite evident on these boards. So I'm quite sure you'll get varying opinions.

We'll be staying at the YC for the third time this March. I love it there. The proximity to Epcot and Boardwalk are the biggest draws for us. We like to go over to Jellyrolls and ESPN in the evenings and the walk back to the YC is just plain wonderful.

The CM's have always, always been professional, helpful, and very pleasant. The concierge staff there are some of the best in the business (I travel alot).

yacht club guy

what do you like about yacht club? what draws you to this resort? what was your last trip there like?

NWDISGAL- What do you like better about the Swan than the YC? I'm debating between BC and Swan.

My family loved our stay there this past November. There is nothing like walking along the waterway to Epcot and back again! Another feature we loved was watching Illuminations from the dock near the lighthouse, what a view!!

I don't think the Yacht Club's theming is any classier, per se, maybe a bit more upscale, and I didn't notice it being any quieter. But you stayed at the Yacht Club recently...did you walk over to the Beach club's side? We stayed in BC's concierge, it was very quiet, but it may be that family's would be more attracted to the theming at BC because of little mermaid and because of the ocean theme (as opposed to nautical). It was quiet when we stayed at the YC as well. A lot of that just depends on who's staying around you. I would say the Boardwalk felt busier than our Y or BC club stays, but not by much. Stormalong bay can get very happening! :jumping4: I have felt most removed at AKL.

Samsma - I love the Heavenly Beds at the Swan. That is my number one deciding factor, because I need my sleep and have a hard time sleeping in hotel beds. The bed has to be really comfortable. The bed at YC is firmer. I like a really cushy bed! When I moved from Swan to YC on my last trip - wow, I noticed the difference in that bed! Another consideration is that my kids like to eat (practically camp) at the Dolphin Fountain. I thought the food quality at the Fountain was much better than Beaches and Cream. Still there clearly things I preferred at YC that would bring me back to it. My view was better at Yacht Club (wonderful water view of the Boardwalk area). I preferred the overall theming at Yacht Club, and Stormalong Bay can't be beat. My room was slightly larger than my one at Swan and I preferred the furnishings/decor at YC.

Good luck with your decision...

I can't remember, does the Yacht club have the 2 queen beds and a daybed like the CR?

Yes it does. That is an advantage, especially if you have five in your party.
