Returned Friday from a wonderful 4 night stay at the YC - just me & DH. I faxed a room request 4 days out - non-smoking, quiet & away from main elevators, woods or garden view. The room we received far exceeded my expectations! We were on the fourth floor - room 4075. It had a view of the Storm-a-long Bay area (though not close enough to hear the noise) and the Beach Club with the Spaceship Earth in back. We could see the Epcot fireworks and did watch them from our balcony one evening. Down and to the left was the Wedding Pavilion and rose gardens and to the right was the BC beach, light house and lake - could even see the ESPN Club side of the Boardwalk area and the Eifel Tower from the France pavillion at Epcot. We really loved the location!
The room itself was very clean. There were two queen beds, no day bed and there was a door joining it to room 4073. All white furniture, beige carpet and curtains with red and blue in them and the curtains had yellow mickey heads and ships wheels. The bedspreads were very bright blues & redish pink. Also had a stuffed chair and table with two chairs. Large closet, TV stand with drawers, and another set of drawers near the bathroom.
The bathroom had white tub & toilet, white ceramic with navy blue accents and navy ticking striped wallpaper. There was a very small section of wallpaper missing from behind the door.
The seperate sink area had large double sinks with mirrors that looked like portholes above them. Also there was a hairdryer and makeup mirror. Beneath the sink area was open and you could store cooler or suitcases here. We did notice a slight musty smell near the sinks, but nothing too bad.
The hedges around Storm-a-long Bay were all jasmine which were in bloom and they smelled absolutely lovely! The magnolia trees along the walkway to Epcot were also in bloom and very fragrant!
I stayed at the Beach Club with a waterview room in September and now can say that the YC or BC would be my very first choices on Disney property. I still want to try a few others, but I will always love these two! Comparing the two, I would have to say I prefer the colors of the BC, but I like the quiet pool at the YC. You can't go wrong with either resort.
Will try to post trip report later - storming here now and may lose electricity soon!
Have a Disney Day!
