Going Home:

We were sad to leave and didn't hurry to get on the road. We woke up and ate breakfast in the lounge. The concierge staff said their goodbyes to us and the bellman came and got our luggage. We pulled away around 10:30 am and Kate called her mother to let her know we were on the road and headed home. We hadn't got out of Orlando yet and all the kids were bedding down for the seven hour drive. Suddenly : "no one told you life was gonna be this way, your job's a joke, you're broke, your love life's DOA.......I'll be there for you cause you're there for me too."

OK, no problem.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I would return again and again to the YC but I'll leave the Polynesian for others to try. This is not a bad thing, it just leaves more room for those of you who love it. The HRH is very convenient and not a bad place to stay unless of course you get the opportunity to try out the Graceland Suite and then it's a don't miss, top of the line experience. We had many magical moments and memories on our trip and in our many years of visiting Walt's playground I have learned there will always be things I love and things I would rather not deal with. I still encountered a few rude vacationers but not nearly as many as I remember from last year. The YC concierge continues to impress me and is well worth the money in my opinion. I would never pay for concierge at the Polynesian again but would go there for dinner. In the future we would like to try AKL, GF and WL. We've stayed at the All-Stars, a few of the moderates and several of the deluxes. Everyone has there favorites, I'm just giving you my experiences. So until my next trip to the world........"I'll be there for you cause you're there for me too."

Thanks fellow dis'ers!

Absolutely loved all of your reports! Evan seems like such a dream older brother, and Andrew seems like a really fun kid.

Glad you all had such a great time!

thanks for posting all about your trips. you kids all seem really great and it was nice hearing about the top notch vaca you were able to give them

I enjoyed reading your trip report. They were great and it makes me want to try out HRH and Universal one day! (Sorry, WDW!)

I truly loved your reports! Your honesty is applauded. I would have left the Poly the 1st day. Now one day I MUST try the YC, thanks to you! LOL

Your family sounds amazing and I am glad your trip was so wonderful. I'm guessing you are in South Eastern NC to make that drive in 7 hrs w/ a 3yr old.

HUGS to you for the vomit incident. Evan is a gem. My DD weew.. she's 3 too so I totally related.

Again.. WOW.. awesome trip!

Thank you for your kind remarks. We live in Lumberton but I grew up just south of New Bern. We were surprised ourselves that it only took 7 hours. We usually give it 8 or 8 1/2 hours. There were absolutely no traffice problems or construction going on at all. Traveling early in the morning was a plus on the way down too. What part of NC do you live in?

YCFAN-I really enjoyed reading all of your trip reports! We are going in Sept and I have both HRH Club and WL booked for the same days! We need to make a decision! The ease of a Universal vacation is hard to beat. What night is movie night at HRH club?

The movie night I was talking about was in the club and it was Sunday. I also think they have one during the week, maybe Wednesday. Then there's the dive-in movie at the pool on Friday nights.

Great reports- thanks for sharing. We are staying club level at HRH in October and now I can't wait. The graceland suites sounds "to die for "but I will have to be content on viewing it through your pictures because it also sounds wayyy out of my league.

We are in Cornelius, which is just north up I77 from Charlotte. Once my house sells.. COME ON SELL SELL We are moving over to Concord which is just north up I85 from Charlotte. We go 77-26-95. It took 9 1/2 hrs to get back from WDW in Feb.. I was SHOCKED! Travel w/ a 3 yrs old as well! LOL

She's adorable!! Doesn't it make everything better to see it again through their eyes?::yes::

::yes:: It really does. I grew up in FLA and went all the time as a kid. Its really more enjoyable as a mom!

Okay.. now where are your pics missy!?!?!!

They're in a my digital camera at home. I don't know how to download them and get them on this site. (digital picture computer iliterate). I'm going to work on it this weekend and see if I can get some pictures posted.

Deedee-she IS too cute!!!!

YC fan-
Anyway, loved your reports-spent all afternoon reading. We have yet to stay at the YC , but FELL IN LOVE with it while staying at the BC. We just cancelled our Poly concierge ressies in favor of POFQ-I told DH about your experiences and it was like a confirmation that we did the right thing. If we both love the YC, we have similar tastes. We love the WL, too. You should try it. It's very "relaxing" there-not as luxurious, but you are paying a lot less. I have been to the Poly for dinner and although it was a non-peak time, it was "bustling"-a little too much for me. I know people like to be in the middle of the magic, but I feel like I need more of a haven from the parks-that's what you get at the WL.

Thanks for the wonderful reports YCFAN!!!

We drive down from SW Michigan (just about every year) and have worked up to 2 weeks at Ft. Wilderness in our camper. We have always been on the "Econo" plan, but have been adding a few extras in recent years.

We tried US a few years ago with our teens, but were sorely disappointed in the entire experience. I guess we are spoiled with WDW and also being regulars at the #1 Amusement Park in the World - Cedar Point in Northern Ohio. I think if we try it again, we will definitely pay the money to stay on-site to get FOTL access.

I feel like I've lived the ultimate Orlando trip through your reports. Thanks again.
