hi all! For a couple hundred bucks difference, I could do yacht club club level or contemporary garden wing. I’ll be with my five year old and doing mostly magic kingdom. Is YC club level good enough to counteract the ability to walk to MK? Is the garden wing problematic at all? Ive stayed in the CR tower before but never garden wing. I’d love advice! Thanks!

Is it just the two of you? If so, I would say, no, it's not worth spending a couple hundred dollars more on YC CL. I always take a look at the extra cost and ask myself if I could do better by simply getting a grocery delivery and stocking our in-room fridge with things we like. Especially if you are mostly going to MK, YC will not be convenient. We've stayed at CR in both the tower and the garden wing and I really loved the garden wing. The rooms are large and comfortable and it's very quiet. Plus, when you walk to MK, you can walk straight through the lobby and onto the path to MK, circumventing the, usually, crowded tower elevators. Given these two choices, I would definitely do CR garden wing. Keep in mind, there are no balconies in the garden wing, but there are patios on the first floor if you have a preference for room requests.

Thank you so much! We have one other adult with us as well, but I do think you’re right that that odds of us eating 200 bucks worth of club lounge food are probably pretty slim. I’m so glad to hear you liked the garden wing - I’m leaning towards that. I did hear that YC’s pool is really nice, so that was my one other factor I was considering.

My mom and I once made a quick Spring Break trip in mid-March many moons ago. The CR lobby was a mass of humanity everywhere and check-in was long and tedious given the crowds. But we had a garden wing room and truly luxuriated in the quiet and calm. I love the tower too, but for that particular trip the garden wing was perfect.

Club level would only be worth it if you plan on being at the YC to make use of the food and drink offerings. If you are doing most of your dining in the parks, or even spending most of your time at the parks, it probably isn't worth it. If you will be at the resort a lot snacking and especially if you would take advantage of the beer and wine, you could easily spend $200 on breakfasts, drinks, snacks, etc. You would lose the convenience to the MK, but YC is more convenient to Epcot. I am staying in the Contemporary Garden wing on my next trip specifically for convenience to the MK with babies, toddlers, and strollers. I learned on previous trips that not having to fold up the stroller for bus rides is worth paying for IMO.

YC's pool is very nice! They have a large sand-bottomed area for younger children plus a small slide behind the flying jib slide. The flying jib slide is also fun, however, personally, with a 5-year old, I would be accompanying my child to the top of that slide. YC's pool is better than CR's pool, IMHO, but CR's pool is definitely easier to navigate with a smaller child.

If you are going to be spending most of your time at Magic Kingdom, I would definitely stay at CR. You cannot beat the easy walk to MK and having your own security line. We loved how quiet the garden wing was too.

We’ve stayed at both BC and CR garden wing. Loved both and would do both again in a heartbeat. But agree that CR is your best choice. Love the walking path. And your bags get checked on the walking path so you bypass that at the park. Just ask for a room close to lobby and your walk will be closer.
