hey guys! just wanted to share some exciting news!!

i booked my trip to WDW today!!!!! It's just my BF & I going and we are SOOOOO excited!!!!!:banana::banana:
We're going April 26-May 3, and staying @ Pop Century!!! And we booked 2 ressies for 'Ohana on our first night & Boma on our last night :thumbsup2

It's our very first trip together, and it'll be my BFs first time going to Disney!!!
What awesome stuff do you think I should definitely show him for his first trip?

We're trying to be really budget conscious, so I think Boma & 'Ohana will be our only sit down ressies, other than that we're gonna try counter services. What are your fave counter services for a good dinner? (i've never had a CS for dinner before!!)

Anyways I just wanted to share, I'm so excited!! Any advice you guys have for taking a first timer, or any advice from someone who has gone without your parents because usually my mommy is there with the itinerary at the ready :upsidedow

Awesome. We booked our trip today too. We're going Late August-Early September (don't know the dates)

Stuff to show... The most popular rides?

I like Cosmic Rays for dinner, especially if you sit outside as it has a nice view of the castle.

Yay!
Have a great time :)

My favorite CS places are anything in the World Showcase and Columbia Harbor House in the MK.

Just show him the best attractions as well as some live preformances and I'm sure he'll have a great time :)

Edited to add specifics:
Since he's a guy, he'll probably love all of the thrill stuff, but also show him stuff like Soarin', POTC, The Haunted Mansion (classics), to get the full experience.

That's great Caitlin!
We booked today too.. :goodvibes
I think you should take your BF to Downtown Disney (I just really like it there, lol.) & to MK, to see the castle.
I agree with George. Cosmic Rays is a nice place.
Have fun planning!

YAYYY!!! that's awesome! Best counter service is probably Starlight Cafe (I think is called that), Pinochio's, In WS, or pretty much anywhere in MK. Have fun!

edit: Sorry: its Cosmic Rays starlight cafe

We're going at the same time as you, but I already told ya that on Facebook.

EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival will be going on, so EPCOT = gorgeous, spend a lot of time there.

My family doesn't mind Peco Bill's. I'm indifferent, counter service I mostly just get McDicks...

OMJ, we booked our trip last week and will just miss you! darn! a good counter service for burgers (plus atmosphere) is Ray's. it's almost like a dinner show except a whole lot cheaper and you don't need a ressie! others would be sunshine seasons, yakatori house, the one in china (name escaping me), and flametree BBQ. a reasonable sit down which i would recommend would be Whispering Canyon at the wilderness. plus it gives you an excuse to look around there resort (and there killer lobby!) without taking time away from the parks!

George & Elin what a coincidence that you guys booked today too!! :goodvibes
When are you going Elin?
& Hilary i hope we run into each other!!!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the input guys, I think cosmic rays sounds good, and we're gonna try some stuff around Epcot too probably. He's so excited about our Boma & 'Ohana ressies (he looooves good food!) Eeeeek I can't get over that we're actually going!

I'm going the 12th - 28th of August, so hoping to run into George in OKW. :goodvibes

The Flower and Garden Festival is gorgeous! You should definintley check that out.

A couple things I would recommend:

- Go to AK at night if you can. It is a totally ifferent experience and imo the most beautiful park to be in at night.
- Go to DHS and do the rides (esp. TSM), but take time to stop and watch the streetmospher going on, or watch Mulch, Sweat and Shears if they are performing. DHS has a ton of entertainment and imo is the most alive park.
- Since you are staying on site, remember that you can take advantage of the EMH since you are a resort guest.
- Just walk around the WS in Epcot and do the shows and maybe the Kim Possible adventure.
- While at Epcot, make sure to go to innoventions as well. They have a ton of cool new exhibits that they have added in there of late, including the new "Sum of all Thrills".
-The Flower and Garden Festival will be going on during your stay. Make sure to check that out also while at Epcot.

There are probably other things I could think of, but that is just off the top of my head.

THATS AWSOME!!

Tips:
Show him the thrill rides. Take him to Disney Quest or on a rental boat.
Fav. CS is Pecos Bill, Yorkshire County fish and chips.

You gotta tell me about Boma im eating there in July and would like some feedback from someone. Thanks:goodvibes

Thats so awesome!! Im jealous!!

I would say take him to see a firework show.. because my friend went this summer with her whole family for the first time.. and when they came back they said "When they said firework show, I thought it was just going to be random fireworks going up, but no! It was sycronized (too lazy to look up spelling) to the music and it was amazing!"

so I'm guessing most people don't realize how cool a firework show is. :thumbsup2

Also! Take him to meet his favorite character! I know thats childish but if its his first time, I'm sure he'll love it ;)

I'm in the minority, but I don't like Pecos Bill's. They killed my burger. Burned to death. But maybe it was just an off day. Lots of people like it.

Definitely take him to meet his favorite character if at all possible. And see fireworks. And a parade or two. :goodvibes

CONGRATULATIONS ON MAKING IT HAPPEN!

Sooooooooooooo...I'm kinda going to be working there from Jan 20-Aug 6 on the Disney College Program...!!!

Hey Ash!!!!!!!
Definitely let me know and I'll come say hi!!
Congrats on getting into CP!!!!

I know others have said this, but Cosmic Ray's is pretty good and there are tons of choices.

As for rides, I suggest HM and POTC. And the TTA. (It's not the same without the old narration, but it's great when you're tired.)
