Dp's mother and father have finally got booked to come on holiday with us.
We leave on the 20th but they leave on the 21st, with British Midland? (Anyone flown with them?)
They booked via Florida R Us, (Holiday Click) now for £1458 for them and charlie who is 9.
I just hope everything is right for them as we booked with Virgin and I've never gone with any other company or flown long haul with any other company...Any Idea's?

They have to make a stop over in washington for 90mins then on to florida....but this is nothing compared to them NOT going they was determined to come, and nothing was going to stop in there way, it was this or a 4/5hr drive to gatwick! to get on a virgin plane lol.

Anyone ever done this before?

We flew with BM last August to Washington and had the best flight ever. Very pleasant crew, excellent goody bags and more leg room than BA and Virgin.

We were frequent flyers with Virgin to the USA and South Africa over a twelve year period. We decided to try other airlines as we saw Virgin going down hill. BM were by far better than Virgin even though we had to change in Washington. We were also upgraded to first class from Washington to Orlando.

Because of a delay in Manchester and Air Traffic Control we missed our connecting flight at Washington, but they just put us on the next available flight to Orlando (they run like busses so no big deal).

This year we are flying with American Airlines to the USA but not sure yet for our South African trip.

Your DP's parents and Charlie will have a great flight, you have nothing to worry about.

we are flying bmi in April with a change in chicago. I will let you know how we get on. I have a friend who has flown with them and said it was great.

My only concern for your folks is the 90 minute change over.

They will be clearing immigration and customs in washington so they will have to be sharp.

I would start to research washington airport online and check out arrival terminal, departure terminal, internal transportation etc.

Make sure visa waiver forms are correct first time as your folks cannot afford any wasted time being sent to the back of the line.

However if this all falls down there are regular flights and the airline will usually get them on the next one.

By the way bmi 's partner is United airlines.( for your ref when looking at washingtons terminals)

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!
