today i had performances in health classes all day to teach of the dangers of drinking and doing drugs and it all went really well! Except when i started to share my story cause i broke down so much that i couldn't even finish it...But everyone understood.

Do any of you guys do any anti-drug stuff in your city too?

sad...maybe i need to think of better subjects for these things...

No. We don't have any anti-drug programs anymore, but we used to have SASA (students against substance abuse). We have a lot of crime in our area from NYC and PHL, lots of drugs.

We don't. Our city-school system does, but they don't allow other kids who arent in their system to participate.

that kind of stinks...at least im my opinion. Not many people would think this but this group helps alot of kids. Anyone in high school from my city can join. And even though we are a small town we still have a huge drug problem. Like take my high school and the other across town and thats about 5000 kids...probably almost 3000 do drugs on a normal basis. Its kinda scary.

I live in a kinda little town and we have a kinda big drug problem. I mean, we don't have a bunch of high kids walking around our high schools, but a lot of the people do participate in drug use.

Yeah i get you. I honestly think that more places need to have something like this. Its helping me so much beacause whenever i feel pressured into doing drugs or stuff i have a bunch of people who care and i can turn to.

We have DARE at the elementary school (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) for 5th graders. My sister is taking it now!

We have SADD which is Students Against Drunk Driving.

We don't do enough as we should or could.
I learned more about drugs and alcohol in elementary and middle school, then I have in high school.
I find it pretty sad, considering a large majority of the kids at my school either dip, drink, or do drugs. :sad2:

we had DARE in elementray too...

Our thing now is called YTOT. youth taking on tabacco

Basically all there is is DARE.
SADD exists but not within the school.
MADD does a presentation usually once a year.

We had a short DARE course in 5th grade, but beyond 9th grade, I don't think there's anything.
