Yay! My neighbors are cleaning up!!!

The night before last they moved the car off the street and down into their driveway - it had sat there unlicensed and not working since about September. They started working on some of the weeds that had grown up around it's tires. They spent the day yesterday working on some of the piles of rock etc. that are evidently supposed to be part of some project they're doing (it's hard to tell when they sit there enough years!) Yippee! Since we've been thinking about a move their yard has been a real concern to us.

It evidently started when we were gone over the fourth. They did their annual display and their annual lack of cleanup afterward. Since we were gone, our neighbor called the HOA President and asked him to come take a look at owr lawn. Several days later they came over and cleaned up - even cleaned our roof and jumped the fence and did the backyard and deck. They did a much better job than the years I've gone over and insisted the teenagers come clean my yard - we've only filled one grocery bag with stuff they missed. I guess having the "President" come officially complain worked where none of us talking to them in the past has.

I hope the cleanup continues - cause they've got a ways to go! The days they work they get quite a bit done since they have their own three teenagers plus about five more that live there part time (or full-time, I'm not sure).

I'm glad that things are going your way now. Bad neighbors are annoying, aren't they? We're fortunate now to have quiet and clean neighbors.

I remember one time when we lived in an apartment the people above us did confetti eggs on their porch and then just pushed the mess down through the spaces in the boards. ACK. Oh, and every Saturday morning, just like clockwork, there would be a very loud SQUEAKING noise - repeating over and over becoming more furious until it would suddenly stop. We called that guy "Baron Von Squeaky." Boy was I glad to get out of there!!!
