Yay! Magic Band and fast pass + excitement!

Just had to come on here and Yaaaaaaay! as my non Disney friends would just not understand my excitement!

Just been onto MDE and found that we had magic bands to customise! We go in November and I have been quietly hoping for weeks that we would be able to customise!

Then I noticed we could book our fast pass plus! I have gone ahead and booked one days worth. But then had to stop, because for some reason my parents tickets are not showing up on MDE but when I rung up a couple of weeks ago they said not to worry because they are showing at their end. I rang again just now and they said they are having a few issues like this and are working their way through September/October and have not got to November yet. So I will give it a few weeks before I call again. Hopefully it will be sorted soon and we can go ahead and book some more!

I noticed this today also, I was practically bouncing around my desk at work when I discovered it!!

Have to say, I feel a whole lot better knowing I have set times for the "biggies". I appreciate that some people dont want to feel boxed in with dining ressies and now ride times, however I love the fact that on my birthday (9th), I know for certain that I will get to ride my favourite rides AND get my Ohana dinner without having to stress about times etc - I can run the 5k, potter around AK and then leave the park at 2:30 as I've ridden Everest, been on Safari, watched the Lion King and had a whirl on the rapids!

I didn't think I was getting Magic Bands and was so excited when I found out I was eligible. No one at work could understand why I was so excited!

I've been avidly watching the thread on the TPAS board so was quite excited to see the updated posts that hit overnight. Especially as I'd already checked in so it didn't pop up automatically in MDE - I'd have never known without watching that thread!

Have been happily poking and planning my FP+'s this morning, and as am doing a split stay, I got to choose multiple colours for my Magic Bands for my trip, yay, LOL.

We are staying at OKW October 11-18 and so I am unable to test the Magic Bands during that time because my arrival date is before the testing date of October 14th. BUT does that also mean we arent going to be able to test out the FP+ during that time as well?

I believe you have to 'invite' them (your parents) and then change the privacy settings on both accounts, not just yours so that your parents and you can both access the FP and ticket info

Just wanted to say that I was able to book about a weeks worth of FP+ before it stopped working for me too and told me I'd reached my maximum allocation.

Reading up on TPAS, they say is also ticket related (not enough days on ticket). Thing is though, I have an Annual Pass which I'll be activating this trip so they darn well better last longer than 7 days LOL.

So yeah, I'm excited to be able to use the Magic Bands and FP+ but I have to remind myself that we are also still the guinea pigs testing it so there are going to be hiccups and looks like this is one of them.

Just thought I'd throw that into the mix in case the invite thing didn't fix it.

Have to say, I feel a whole lot better knowing I have set times for the "biggies". I appreciate that some people dont want to feel boxed in with dining ressies and now ride times, however I love the fact that on my birthday (9th), I know for certain that I will get to ride my favourite rides AND get my Ohana dinner without having to stress about times etc - I can run the 5k, potter around AK and then leave the park at 2:30 as I've ridden Everest, been on Safari, watched the Lion King and had a whirl on the rapids!

I totally feel the same as you! I am not gonna do all of our fast passes but I will be doing the ones where we have already booked dining reservations. Its gonna be a life saver for us with two small children. They can ride on stuff after breakfast and if they get tired we can go back to the hotel happy that we have at least done some of the things they have wanted to do!

Hopefully see you on 5k run day, we are AK that day too

Haha yep they certainly need to last longer than 7 days for you! I think there has been new speculation today that full roll out will be before Christmas so we will see. Either way I am just happy that I have been able to get myself a PINK magic band!

I think that sounds a pretty perfect day, though I would watch the 5k rather than run it

I rang the fix it felix team again this evening and spoke to a very helpful man. He is going to make some calls and get it sorted and then email me as soon as it is sorted. So fingers crossed he can fix it. I wanna get booking some more fast passes!

I can currently book my fastpass + times, but haven't had anything about customising magic bands. No doubt will appear in system in a couple of days.

Does anyone know if you still get access to regular fastpass during testing?

Update, Checked again this morning and can now customize magicbands. I'm on the fence about the whole Fastpass + setup. While I like it for TSM and TT, unsure I want to book out my whole day well in advance. But keen to see how it all works out on our trip. Only 36 days to go.

As far as I know you get normal fp too.

We are onsite next month - when it came up we could customise the bands I was so happy

Have you already done online check-in?

If not, then check-in.

If you have, go in and modify it, right through to the end again (it remembers most of the info from previously so only takes a moment to redo).

If you've tried that, try logging out and logging in again, or manually clearing cookies.

If you have the FastPass+ I think the MB's are there, it's just a question of persuading MDE to show them.

Either way, hopefully they should be popping up one way or another soon. They don't send the bands out to around a month prior to the check-in date so there will be lots of time still to go and customise them though.
